Curtains once told me before last season that none of our youth players  were ready for the first team. I asked him why and he just said he’d ‘seen more youth games than I’d had hot dinners’.
Ive just let the last 12 months play out really...

    The Sun? Ooof.
When you go around claiming a whole group of religious people are paedophile proto-terrorists then you can't be outraged by the reaction. When you have marches where you actively harass and attack innocent people standing by you can't be shocked by a reaction. Again though the false equivalence comes in to play, it still pales in insignificance to the views and actions so far of groups that support Robinson's ideology. Large swathes of EDL and Britain First supporters have done prison time for their actions.
The hypocrisy is always a fun one for me, the fact he worked alongside nonces that groomed little kids in the EDL but didn't protest their court trials.
I hope you can find peace my friend, supporting this kind of hate must be a terrible burden.

Why would an undoubtedly 'left wing media giant' like the BBC spend so much time, money and effort fronting Nigel Farage's personality cult?

'Do your own research' is the new 'study it out' response - and as you well know, labelling Antifa (which is not an organisation - just anybody who chooses to protest against right-wing extremism in the USA) as a 'Domestic terrorist group' is something that Trump instigated in order to project his 'Both sides are bad' rhetoric when trying his hardest not to condemn white supremacists in Charlottesville (remember his "...very fine people on both sides" remark when describing the 'Unite the Right' rally?)
You are implying that to protest against fascism is exactly the same as protesting in favour of fascism. I'm really struggling with such a blatant false dichotomy while trying hard not to come to a conclusion as to where your true sympathies lie.
Edit: If you are trolling, well played.

The BBC that gives Farage a gross amount of air time? Invites right wing commentators with 50 followers for interviews? That's had Tory associates planted at the top level?
The Guardian news section is pretty down the line, the opinion section is just exactly that, wouldn't call it a giant in main stream to be honest.

Lets face it, Derby support is poor at the best of times. We may have more numbers than a lot of teams, but vocally we are rubbish.

For context for anyone unsure of the circumstances, Armenia and Azerbaijan have absolutely no diplomatic relations whatsoever. Armenian members of the public cannot legally enter the country under any circumstance, and only under exceptional circumstances can visas be given to high-profile Armenians, for events such as this. The feeling against Armenians in Azerbaijan is exceptionally strong, and not just on the level of the general public. For example, in 2004 an Azerbaijani lieutenant Ramil Safarov murdered an Armenian lieutenant Gurgen Margaryan with an axe while he slept during a NATO Partnership for Peace programme in Hungary. At his trial he stated "The reason why I committed the murder was that they passed by and smiled in our face. At that moment I decided to kill them (...) If there were more Armenians here I would like to kill all of them. It is a pity this was the first occasion and I hadn't managed to get better prepared for this action... My calling is to kill all the Armenians." In itself this action could be viewed as the action of a singular man with no reflection of his country's position, but upon extradition from Hungary to Azerbaijan in 2012 he was, against the agreement of the extradition, instantly pardoned by the country's president on arrival at the airport, promoted to the rank of major, and provided publicly-funded housing and eight years of back pay. He was praised by high ranking members of the government as a "hero" and someone who "defended his country's honour." This for murdering a man in his sleep with an axe solely due to his nationality. I think it's entirely reasonable for an Armenian to worry for his safety in a country such as this. How can his safety be assured in these circumstances? He would be one of the highest profile Armenians in the world, with his whereabouts being known for at least the period of the match, inside a country where a sizeable amount of people would happily see him dead for his nationality. It would only take one lunatic managing to get to him for things to turn bad. It's a very poor decision on UEFA's part to allow this to have happened, I would say.

tomsdubs reacted to BaaLocks in Danny Baker fired for racist tweet about Royal baby
As a couple of you on here know, I'm far from scared on pulling people up who make comments that I find offensive or disrespectful. But the reaction to the Danny Baker tweet is a prime example of how we have just gone too far - it was a silly post, one that he deleted and vehemently apologised for immediately on realising. But I think those who are choosing to be offended are really digging to find wrong in anything. If you see the original post (I won't post here in case it contravenes board rules) but it's a real stretch to be offended by that and I'd go as far to say that those who are put out are probably displaying more deep rooted racist thoughts than they realise.
Not the end of the world, social media is daft anyway, but such a shame that this is being considered in the same vein as the bile that the likes of Katie Hopkins, Trump, Farage or Tommy Robinson eschew.

To the original point, we must anchor our justice principles around an unending belief that individuals can be rehabilitated. I totally get that what this individual had done is horrific and he should, absolutely, pay for his crimes. But he could do forty years inside and still only be 56. It's a really difficult one but come that time the poor, poor girls parents may well no longer be here and I can't see what good would come from keeping him looked up eternally if (and it is a huge if) he has been able to demonstrate true, lasting remorse. I'm not saying we plan to release, just that it should always remain an option for our justice system to be grounds around rehabilitation rather than irreversible punishment.
As a footnote, RIP Alesha and my prayers that her parents can, at some point in the future, find healing through time.
