  1. We have picked pretty much a 4-2-4 formation a couple of times recently with poor old Hourihane and Bird trying to hold the midfield together. We might try to pair Collins and TJJ with two from NML, CBT and Wilson either side of them. Very bold but it does put the pressure on the opposition to counteract our threat rather than the other way round. I think we might get Smith too to add a different dimension from the bench. If I’m greedy, I’d like a fitter midfield option to help make this all work.
  2. He’s only got to wee in a cup. Should be a piece of….
  3. Thanks Bob. You just cheered me up. Gotta love Larry. Challenging social conventions for over fifty years. And no one swears as well as Suze!
  4. Is this purely to distract us from the CBT situation? I have no idea how good Jake Young is but sometimes players just have a golden season where everything lands at their feet. Look at Cole Stockton. Not long ago he was the lower league Messi. Now he’s just a messy lower leaguer.
  5. Hope so, because we can’t keep relying upon Forsyth, who has been a great servant but has had a heavy workload. He’s like Boxer from Animal Farm. Elder looks like he’s still half a yard off the pace and I hope we will see his true form soon as he gets more minutes.
  6. What, on here or elsewhere cos all of those names have been mentioned on here.
  7. Not buying the McGoldrick explanation though. Reckon he’s been looking at Dan Crowley.
  8. Call me old-fashioned but I quite like a simple Derby followed by three staccato claps. Usually grows in volume as more and more people realise it’s a simple one they can join in on without feeling daft or self conscious. Also effective in lifting the team as it’s easy to pick up on. We don’t seem to sing it these days.
  9. Reporting into a microphone whilst lifting parts of you with a pair of very long tongs 😊
  10. I’m with Mrs C. Used to like it but increasingly formulaic with the annoyingly smug main characters proving how clever they are whilst every police man and woman is portrayed as a total idiot. Not sure many pathologists, who rely enormously on their hands, would be boxing/ fighting every week. Also, there’s a whole bunch of political statements every week, delivered with the subtlety of a Monty Python fish. For me, it’s the BBC at its worst, peddling a bunch of middle-classed main characters, surrounded by a selection from each minority in society to show how ‘in touch’ they are. If they’re serious about inclusivity, give these characters more of a story. I think if the franchise is to succeed, they need to marry off Emilia Fox and David Caves and send them a long way away.
  11. Heard something about big bucks and an extension. Could be two or three at once.
  12. I know the pitch has had a lot of criticism but if the corner flag (harbinger of great transfer news) is a whittled stick with a bit of tissue attached, we should all get worried.
  13. More likely over confidence in Derby’s team and a total demolition of any confidence in the NC team. Total imbalance of skills. Anyone going up to the first team may be under the delusion they will have similar time and space and be rudely awakened by a Stevenage boot up the Khyber Pass.
  14. Yes, not sure what either side gained from that fixture.
  15. Would you consider a pick up at Aztec West (next to Almondsbury I/C)?
  16. Struggling to raise above £250k for CBT then suddenly after a player valued over £1m?
  17. Getting bummed and heroin is the peas and gravy of the south.
  18. Think Vickers would have saved the shot but for a slight deflection

As a team we deserved a seven for getting out of the hole we dug for ourselves but we’ll have to be better on Saturday.
  20. Assume you mean left back but get the point. A lot of people assume fill back isn’t an important position. On the contrary, full backs are likely to be marking the opposition’s best players. They are expected to tackle and head everything that comes their way, cover the CBs and bomb up and down the flanks. Forsyth’s ‘bombing’ days are over but he’s still the best all-round LB we have, followed by Sibley. It wouldn’t disappoint me if Elder found a new club. He’s in the not too successful pile as far as recent signings are concerned. He’s okay, no better than that, and if we are ambitious, I think he won’t fit in our plans. Just the opinion of a former LB who studies the role more than most at games 😊
