  1. True but I also can’t fathom our tactics at corners. How can it be a good idea to all take the same space? They stand together like cattle. They are in each other’s way. Let’s at least try one running to the near post and one at the back post. There’s also the opportunity to play the ball to the edge of the box where at least we might get a shot in. All looks too predictable and defendable.
  2. We have put our faith in getting it wide and whipping in crosses which makes Smith a sensible option, but I’m not sure how we utilise TJJ’s strengths. He looks to me like a player who likes the ball played on the ground in intricate moves (as per Arsenal). He’s not going to get that with our 1.5 man midfield. That’s why we need Arblaster, a busy youngster with a neat pass. That might be the final piece we need.

  4. Disappointing performance really. No lack of effort but too many off their game. Just need to dust themselves down and go again on Tuesday. Definitely need at least one midfielder in the window. If Hourihane had gone any deeper he’d have got the bends.
  5. Some tidy interplay but generally crossing has been poor, not helped by the positioning of Derby’s forwards. Still not convinced Elder is a starter. Too many slack passes. Think the FB injury problems are affecting the central defenders. TJJ for Elder with Sibley switching to LB.
  6. If you haven’t watched Fargo5 yet I wholeheartedly recommend it.
  7. It’s well worth watching.
  8. Is the atmosphere amongst Derby fans good? Big chance for a statement win today.
  9. He might have which is more likely to delay, rather than end, the transfer.
  10. If they’re all involved in the same goal the ball will be in the back of the net before the commentator can get their names out!
  11. Isn’t he just some kind of Labrador Poodle cross?
  12. And Liam Dickinson!
  13. So difficult to judge whether there’s real talent there. The defending and goalkeeping is so poor. In League One, only a handful of those goals would be scored. He might make the step up, but it would be a risk. I’d back the guy who played for Arsenal over the guy who played for Swindon.
  14. 6pm announcement? Cue mass self abuse all across Derby 😊🍺🍆🤫
  15. Barkhuisen isn’t the most dynamic of players. He’s not a grafter or a battler. He’s not even a great finisher. What he does do, however, is take up better attacking positions in the box than any other Derby player which means when the cross is accurate, he gets scoring opportunities. For me he’s a good sub but we have better starters in terms of what they bring to the team.
  16. I think we should appreciate what’s starting to happen here. At the beginning of the season we were looking at Waghorn and Washington to spearhead our attack. We now have the prospect of a 22yo and a 26yo tearing it up. We should be delighted. If we get Arblaster too it will be a fantastic window. I do wonder who might go out to make way.
  17. He will join the hero/ scapegoat rollercoaster like the rest of the squad! He’s young, quick and exciting. If he was infallible he wouldn’t be playing in the third tier.
  18. We have picked pretty much a 4-2-4 formation a couple of times recently with poor old Hourihane and Bird trying to hold the midfield together. We might try to pair Collins and TJJ with two from NML, CBT and Wilson either side of them. Very bold but it does put the pressure on the opposition to counteract our threat rather than the other way round. I think we might get Smith too to add a different dimension from the bench. If I’m greedy, I’d like a fitter midfield option to help make this all work.
