If we get liquidated, another club will form, with the same fanbase, the same badge and probably even the same name. It’s not like we won’t have a club to support. The question effectively boils down to what matters more - the company Derby County or Mel Morris. In my view, from a matter of principle, I’d rather a new company be formed than Mel come back. At least it would be a team I could be proud of. Even it was in lower leagues. I couldn’t be proud to support a football club owned by Mel Morris.

Is it possible to opt to liquidate Mel Morris?
Bottle him up and sell him in some hipster bar as a guest ale called old 4 eyed tw@, or somet like that.

It will still play in Derby, it will have the same badge, and it will be called Derby County. I am bowing out now, as I have made my feelings clear. Thanks for posting the question. Nobody wants him, but if push came to shove and its liquidation we wouldnt have aclub. Not the Derby that I love anyway.

Maybe for you he is far from the worst, but he ranks alongside the three amigos for me. Ran us phenomenally poorly, ran up huge debts, made terrible decision after terrible decision when it came to the squad and managers and then cut and run leaving us on the brink of liquidation whilst blaming everybody but himself for the problems. And before you say covid was the problem - Covid didnt ramp up our costs to unsustainable levels and it certainly didnt stop him paying the clubs taxes.

The answer is not letting Mel Morris anywhere near the running of the Club again. You take the position you want. 

There will always be a club. Give your head a wobble. I can’t believe how many on here would let Morris back after he has done to destroy the club.

I'm sure it won't happen but if it did I'd rather see Pride park burn to the ground than let that Bamford get within 10 miles of us ever again. I'd honestly prefer to see us start up again in non-league and rise through the divisions. 

How are people in this thread defending Mel?

The man has literally taken us from being relatively well run, small budget and generally well liked to being on the brink of financial ruin and hated by just about every club in the country. 
The man has no business being anywhere near the city of Derby let alone football. 
The only way we have any salvageable way of moving on from this mess is with complete new ownership. 
We’d never hear the end of it if Mel was allowed to own the club again and this shadow would be cast over us for years more than it already has been. 
 
I love this club, and liquidation would be absolutely heartbreaking. But my love of football would be truly done if Mel was allowed to come back after what he’s done. 

Are you OK? How on heavens earth have you managed to think that was a threat out of that post ?
