Van der MoodHoover got a reaction from McRainy in Gaming
And a big day out was to the Games Workshop shop in Nottingham to check out the latest Dungeons, figures and accessories.
You've rekindled my interest. I'm going to check out the Eastleigh area - lots of 50-60 long haired types here that are potential D&D-ers.

I’ve been playing it on and off since about 1980 and this is the first straight fighter I’ve had. Always went for stealth before, occasionally with a bit of magic, usually something sneaky like shadow dancing. I say ‘straight’ fighter, but she’s a bit of a sand snake, a dancer and barbarian weapon master, specialising in poleaxe, trip and disarm.
I started playing at school because I fancied the DM. A group of about 15 of us would take over someone’s house for the weekend and play 48hr sessions surviving on tea, toast and fags. It was brilliant, total escapism, really engrossing. I can remember wondering what I needed to roll to get the bus back home.
These days it’s a bunch of long haired 50 and 60 somethings trying to recreate the magic with a few bottles of wine and a bucket of root vegetable crisps.

Anyone play Dungeons and Dragons? With dice and bits of paper and actual role playing?
Don't do computers but I’ve got a 9th level fighter I’m pretty attached to.

Western Hognose.
It's not very big but uses its venom to keep its prey still as it swallows.
Similar idea to the @Boycie household

A dog 2 cats and a snake.
They won't all pose for a picture sadly.
The snake was sold as "harmless" and was regarded as fun until the sod bit me. At which point we discovered 2 things.
1. It had retractable fangs at the back of its mouth so no visible teeth.
2. It was venomous, but not lethal. An important distinction.

Just bought ELEX for the PC (PS4 & XBONE also) I Have not bought a full price game for a while (I usually wait for a Steam sale) , but sprung for this (39.99) on the basis as it is the same team (Piranha) who produced Gothic 1 and Gothic 2
It is a Euro RPG style (Big on story Line , Open World and no hand holding the player of linear progression)
Its a 3rd person Post Apocalyptic Science meets Fantasy setting on an earth like planet
So far typical Piranha game , very tough, for example some of the very early side quests send you to areas you cannot possibly survive in and need to be pursued later, combat is brutal and button mashing will fail period , this forces you to take your time and develop your character slowly
Its had mixed reviews , but I am really enjoying the challenge
If you like Open World RPGs , heavy on story line and truly find your own way with no linear progression then it may be for you

Was £20 on the Xbox sale a few weeks ago for the collection, will no doubt come around again. Almost bought it myself, not sure what stopped me.

If you enjoy the lemonade, the next step is a cherry floating on the top, and a small umbrella in your glass. Will go well with the orange peel and coriander. Trust me.
