Might be a really stupid question but.. if they are supposedly finding us guilty of not filing our accounts properly according to accounting practices. Then why aren't the HMRC after us as well?

Depreciation and amortisation aren’t relevant when it comes to determining taxable profits or losses.

I think our biggest threat is that a points deduction for next season could easily trigger legal action by Wycombe and Shef Wed. Wycombe as the obvious victim and Wednesday from the 'unfairness' of our transgression being punished later than theirs.

That could seriously affect the beginning of next season, maybe even forcing a delay.

If they apply it to last season, the only aggrieved club is us, and we can't appeal and might not be able to afford to make a legal challenge. That's a far better option for the EFL.

I wonder if the delay is them trying to find an interpretation of the rules which applies the points deduction to last season?

That would be OK wouldn't it?

We finished on 64 points last season.

Anybody else wondering why is there a delay?  Are they waiting to see if we are relegated before making a final decision.  Stay up 3 point penalty this season, relegated 3 points next?  It is all very odd and not reassuring in the slightest

As the EFL seem to love us so much, it will probably be 3 points this season and 6 points next.

Companies House has several Derby County related companies showing accounts as overdue as from June 2020.

In normal times they would be 9 months overdue - Co House gave every company an automatic 3 month deadline extension when the first lockdown was in place.

I dont know, was just thinking of possible reasons for them not to be published and the outstanding appeal against them makes the most sense to me.

Maybe they have been filed just not been published until the appeal has been completed? Not sure if that is possible or not.

As soon as they are sent to Co House they go onto the public record. There is usually a delay of a few days before they appear online if they are sent in by post.

Maybe the auditors won't give an opinion until the EFL case is determined, so the accounts can't be filed.

Maybe the auditors won't give an opinion until they have proof the directors have demonstrated the Club can survive another 12 months.

Alternatively, the accounts might have been signed off but the directors have simply chosen not to file them yet.
