Difficult to have a view on Sibley.

Leftover beef stew pastie.

I had three quarters of a tin of corned beef left over from the Reuben Calzone I made the other day, so decided upon something 'rustic'.
I started by frying onion slices and julienne carrots in coconut oil, then fried some chestnut and oyster mushrooms in butter, boiled and sliced some sweet potatoes, made a bit of mash and then assembled layers of corned beef, veggies, sweet potatoes etc in a casserole dish, topped it with the mash and finished it off with a generous helping of cheddar cheese before baking it for an hour. Served with spinach and mangetout.
I wouldn't insult your sensibilities with anything quite so vulgar as a photograph of the offending dish, but The Memsahib actually went as far as "That's very tasty" as opposed to her usual "It'll do".

Did no else make pancakes? 
I did savoury then sweet. Here we have buttermilk pancakes topped with shallots, woodland mushrooms, streaky bacon and maple syrup. 

Just a case of India’s spin bowlers being far superior to England’s on a pitch specifically prepared to assist spin. 
Also the stand out innings from India came from Rohit and Pant who took the attack to the bowlers and put them off their line and length.
The game was over when India got 329. England though should be disappointed they didn’t get close to 200 in either innings.
Not a time for panic. Careful selection needled for the next test.

It was umpires call .
So not out was the decision.
Different yesterday when they got away with one when it clearly was caught behind off the gloves and 3rd umpire didn’t look at it and was checking edge off the bat. 
 
Also why is Virat running diagonally across the pitch.

Hmmm.. Deeply unsatisfying performance from the umpires. As for Kohli, whilst it's easy to acknowledge his stature as a batsman, I've not much time for him as a sportsman. Watching him refuse to walk when cleaned bowled kind of sums up his character for me. I don't think I've ever seen someone bowled and refusing to walk before, though I could be wrong. He even bullied the umpires into a 'free' review! I very much doubt Root would be afforded the same.
All of this notwithstanding, we've been properly schooled in this test, though I do feel this match was always going to be decided on the toss of a coin. It's clearly a hopeless task now so I think we need to dust ourselves down, re-group and hope for better luck next time. I'm still not concerned by our top order batsmen and I think when we find ourselves in bother, it's typically because they've failed to deliver. I'm hoping Zak Crawley can add some stability though I'm not convinced he plays spin that well at this early stage of his career.

I can’t work out that ball. Not that it was given not out just the whole damned thing! Kohli giving umpires an ear full. Get on with it man as Mr Lloyd would say!

I think slip catches off fast bowlers are very rare in India. 
More catches in front of the wicket where the ball sticks in the surface. 
Amazing to think what a difference a coin flicked casually in the air can make to a five day game! 
So pleased we were able to bat big. 
400 would have lost us the game and at 60-odd for two we would probably have taken that. 
So many heroes for England.

Terrific performance from England, won probably 12/14 sessions in the match.
Think India might have had a bit of a hangover from their Australia tour as they were off colour throughout. 
Potentially fans are allowed for the next test so maybe that will wake them up.

Stellar performance from the bowlers today. Thought Leach was excellent, Archer at his hostile best, but Jimmy Anderson take a bow son. Just brilliant. First blood to England and it seems we have a proper series on our hands.
