Has Nixon put this article on his Twitter feed as I couldn’t find it earlier? If not then speaks volumes, as it avoids fans like us then questioning what information and facts he has, such as what is the level of financial breach?! Is it more than £4m which is the only number in the public domain courtesy of Mel’s interview with Radio Derby. Fact is he doesn’t know.
This is simply someone from the EFL or the other clubs leaking something to their advantage with no facts behind it. The EFL may push for -17 but on what grounds other than you’re Derby County and we don’t like you - to be honest that logic will probably work for the EFL.
Until we know to the pound and pence what the financial breach is no one can say should be 4 points, 9 points, 17 points etc, we will probably never know which suits the EFL as they continue to paint us as the biggest cheats in the history of football when nothing could be further from the truth.

I wonder how people would feel about a completely level playing field?
Imagine if wages were paid directly by the league - could be a £10m 'subscription' from each club and TV money making up the rest. Each club get the same wage structure, eg, 5 players at £25k, 5 at £20k, 5 at £15k, 5 at £10k and 10 at £5k. Clubs choose which players are in which tier and are set at the start of each season and can be altered in January. No transfer fees, and fixed two year contracts. Clubs can transfer list players who are then available for a 'free transfer'.
OK, it would need a lot of details ironing out, but the point I'm making is how would we feel if things were completely even financially? If the size of the club made no difference - Barnsley, Derby and West Brom each had the same wage bill. It would certainly change things, but would we want it?
Even more drastic if applied to the Premier League - Watford have the same clout as Man City...which of course means it would never happen.

The EFL have got the upper hand in the PR battle as football is so tribal. Fans of other clubs can’t wait for other clubs to get spanked by the powers that be, regardless of what they’ve done.

I think the administrators pulled the appeal against the 12 points because the efl said its unlikely that Derby would win and if the club lost then instead of adding 9 points the efl could add upto 17 points or have I read that article wrong.
If I'd read it correctly it would make sense that the administrators had pulled the appeal even though that could make the sale of the club very difficult.
A relegated club is likely to fetch a lot less money.

Our pr has been appalling throughout this whole business and we've let the EFL completely dictate the narrative.
I can't for the life of me work out what the EFL is for....
    - it doesn't write good, clear rules
    - it doesn't police its rules effectively and reasonably
    - it doesn't negotiate good deals on behalf of its members
    - it doesn't prevent bad things happening to clubs
    - it doesn't appear unbiased and puts out shockingly worded and insinuating statements
It's disgraceful really. It seems to be nothing more than a clique of has-beens in thrall to vested lobby groups.
The fact that we were represented in one of these and completely failed to move the agenda to our advantage is merely the latest example of rubbish performance by our people. No surprise there then.... ?

Nixon though writes in The Sun on Sunday this morning that the EFL ‘had the power’ to push for a much larger penalty for Derby County’s financial misconduct – he writes that, should the case have gone to an independent disciplinary commission, then the EFL could’ve pushed for a 17-point deduction rather than a 9-point deduction.
    All smoke and no fire?
Derby County and the EFL don’t have the best relationship it seems. The club have broken the rules and are rightfully set to pay a heavy price, but in the midst of this ongoing saga between the two it seems like the EFL have started to throw their weight about somewhat.
As Derby look for ways around their points punishments it seems the EFL are trying to back them into a corner and show to them that they have no way out of their current predicament and that relegation is indeed the only outcome for them this season.
League One is beckoning for the Rams and with it will come a lot of changes at the club.

It's pretty clear the part just moved or failed slightly. It's not like some super clever trying to get around the regulations thing. It's not hard to picture an "instruction to fix the part" if he'd qualified P3.
Mercedes have had a top speed advantage over red bull all year and have now found a set up that's competetive through the corners. Were Merc supposed to just go "oh well, we give up, red bull is faster"
I think it's red bull racing more than it's Max that are annoying - i remember what an utter bamford Vettel was at red bull and how he bacame a whole lot more likeable once he left, there's deffo something about how Horner and Marco go about things that's pertty vulgar.

Bend the rules all you like if you go up, but if you don't get promotion the EFL will bully you all the way down the leagues, what a nasty, vindictive, self-serving organisation we belong to.

Pathetic again from Nixon. -9 or -90 it makes no difference as we’d still be down so why reluctantly accept -9 instead of -17 the outcome is the same.

I'm starting to get annoyed at the media willfully misrepresenting and conflating differing issues around DCFC. Yes, it's a complicated situation but it's fair to assume football reporters are familier with it by now. But a "how outragous are DCFC now!" take plays better as a click.

Toto said it only failed on one side because it had a fault.

It had passed every time before for all other races.

I mean disqualification and starting from the back was unbelievable.
Red Bull and Verstappen are really annoying .
They are moaning now about Mercedes straight  line speed .

That was some god level stuff from Lewis.
I think Bottas and Sainz get shout outs for doing good jobs.
but wow, yes, starting p10 i would not bet against Hamilton being on the podium.
The more I find out about the DQ for Lewis the harsher it seems. I can see the FIA/stewards thinking "the car that rinsed the field by 4 tenths in Q3 had a DRS that opened further than allowable" (note Bottas' top speeds were same as Hamilon's)but seems clear it's a case of a part just moving slightly out of tolerence and nothing underhand. But on technical breaches it's either you car didn't comply or it did there's absolutly no kind of proportion to it. There's some good discussion in this vid:
