  1. I have been taking my son to the match since he was 5. His first match was 2018. In the six seasons he's been watching Derby, he's gone to Wembley to watch Derby in a play-off final - one goal away from the Premier League. He's seen Derby play (on Rams TV) in an empty stadium during a pandemic. He's seen Derby escape relegation on the last game of the season in a 3-3 draw with a dramatic twist in the last 5 minutes. He's seen Derby go into administration, docked 21 points and be (as it turned out) 7 days away from not existing at all. He's seen Derby relegated to the 3rd tier. He's seen Derby, two weeks before the start of the season, with 5 registered players. He's seen Derby miss out on the play-offs on the last game of the season with some dodgy refereeing. He's now seeing Derby 1 draw away from promotion.

    It's never dull at Derby.

And when there is a clearly identifiable pattern of play (in our case get it wide and sling it in) it is obvious that the players are being told to play like that.

This is what I have been banging on about for a year now. How PW "loves a cross and a toe poke" but we now HAVE to go wide to cross it in when a direct through-ball is a better option. How many times have we seen Bird with the ball in the middle and he goes wide EVERY time. We know this and every opposition manager will know this.

  3. I have always been against sacking managers too soon. I don't think it's a healthy culture. It becomes too easy for players to think, "if i don't perform, the mananger will go!"

I do like Paul Warne, he's charasmatic and energetic, and I think some of what he's done has been great. The players do work hard. However, this is a good group of players! This team should be tearing up this division and that isn't happening. So, maybe it's time to bring in somebody else who can get the best out of this group of players. Just make sure the next manager doesn't insist we have to go wide to then cross the ball in, when a pass direct through the middle is the better option, and PLEASE CAN WE WIN THE SECOND BALL!

  4. The first half against Pompy was the most bored I've been at a football match. If there had been a couple of early goals and lots of chances it had the potential for the best atmosphere of the season (with the Pompy support).

The football has been flat at home this season, hence the flat atmosphere.

I think the atmoshpere was brilliant the season we went down. Good Friday (evening) against Fullham was as good as I can remember, including the Leeds game at the BBG the season we went up. 86-87?

  5. To the OP, please submit your plan for Head of Recruitment, coaching team (including Head Coach) and any other back-room staff. Please include specifically which players should be brought in and the cost in transfer fees and wages.

Finally, please submit your 3 year P&L forecast for your rebuild plan. (make sure to get this plan agreed and signed off by the EFL.

Oh, and before I forget, take £60m of your own money and sink it into a football club with no guarantees that you will get any return on your investment.

Also think … and lets be honest we all thought it start of the season

i dont think collins is good enough

the service was crap to him last night but how many times did he win a contested ball up to him.

iv seen much slighter forwards win more ball, make it stick or draw the foul

not using him as the scape goat as he could quite easily be part of the solution with better service i just think we need better up there in terms of cuteness and ability to lead the line… id rather see waggy quite honestly .. but im saying that with waggy of 5 years ago in mind

so its all a bit of a mess tbh

Waggy can create as well as score but I think we're crying out for a Jack Marriot type.

  7. For me, it boils down to this:

    1. Sloppy passing. This is down to the players and is almost always a confidence thing.

    2. Too slow in transition. This is a big problem and the main issue. Last night we moved the ball up the pitch with the pace of erosion. Sideways and backwards passing when we've won the ball in defence. Getting the ball up the pitch quickly is key to creating chances. PW came out after a bad perormance last season and said "I don't think my message was clear. I didn't mean NEVER pass backwards or sideways, but it should be a last resort. We should be always looking to pass the ball forward." That message seems to have changed. PW did make a comment last night about "being braver" and my interpretation of that is looking to move the ball up the pitch instead of playing the easy, short, sideways pass.

    3. Bad press. "The press" done right is a good tactic but it has to have the whole team working together for it to work. When the press is not done well, it is easy to pass through it (which is exactly what Oxford did last night for their second goal).

    4. We need someone in defence to carry the ball out. This creates space further up the pitch and sets up the move.

    5. The players last night did not look like a team. From front to back, there was no cohesion. They were not reading the passes or the runs. This is why it is important to keep the same starting 11. Finding that starting 11 is the tricky part when they have had a bad start and the manager is being asked to find an answer pronto.

                                Brown

(Vickers, Wilson, Rooney, Elder, Smith, Waghorn, Collins)

Love the formation. I would swap Washington for Sibley and we'd be good.

  9. I am disappointed with the performance on Saturday and lastnight but I don't feel we are in a desperate situation. If we lose to Burton, Oxford and Fleetwood, then I will be calling for a change, but, right now, I am confident that this side will get into their groove and we will be in the top 6 (and stay there).

Games can change in a moment. On Saturday against Wigan, if Collins had put the early chance in, it would have been a different game.

I really don't care about the cup - I think we are better off dropping out of any cup early.

    Keep the faith.

  10. Thrèe things I don't like about the current setup.

    1. We seem to have to go wide when a ball through the middle would be better.

    2. We never win the second ball.

    3. Nobody carries the ball forward, drawing players in to create space further up the pitch. Instead, there are too many short passes to players who are not in space.

At the moment there are around 6,300 seats available to buy as season tickets, which will also be same seats going on general sale in the couple of weeks.

There is also some that are held back until the rest are nearly all sold, which could be several hundred.

We have been told that season tickets sales have already passed 20,000.

I don’t know what the maximum amount of season tickets we can sell is, but in the past we have sold 23,000+ and possibly more.

How many are left now? If you click on East Stand block G, for example, it says there are 11, but, when you go to select, there are none.

There really aren't that many seats left on three sides of the ground.
