It's a bore to you because you have no emotional attachment to any SPL clubs, Kris Commons doesn't look like he's rotting up there either, in fact he seems rather happy playing in the Champions League.......do you think he's missing the chance of winning the Brian Clough Trophy? Doubt it.

Celtic are a massive club playing European football and winning silverwear each season, Derby simply cannot compete with a club like that regardless of what you think of the SPL, I'd put money on it that the majority of our squad would jump at the chance to join Celtic.

Steve Nicholson says Reading are reported to be after him.

Says it in that poxy Daily Star thing

I'm in the Staffordshire area and Celtic made an offer for Kevin Doyle in Jan and are still keen on him now. In lots of papers ect. Celtic have Hooper, Stokes, Watt, Samaras so I can see them going in for another striker. Hopefully Doyle

He's scored 20 goals this season, 13 of which were in the league; 5 came in the Scottish Cup, including a hattrick against Stranraer in front of 1,000 people.

This was his best season in the SPL too.  He got a hattrick against Kilmarnock, and a couple of his other goals were penalties.  They all count, of course, but a penalty is a free shot at goal and multiple goals in a game can mean the opposition had a nightmare.

But he got that in half a season, he was injured the rest of it.

Hoops in the Russell loop

CELTIC will be given the chance to match any offer Dundee United accept for star striker Johnny Russell.

Derby County are in talks with United about taking him to the Championship.

But SunSport understands Parkhead chief executive Peter Lawwell’s request to be kept informed of developments has been granted.

That could see the Hoops snatch Russell at the 11th hour by equalling offers from England.

As things stand, that scenario is some way off as Derby’s bid of around £650,000 falls well short of the £1million United want.

Italian side Catania failed with two recent bids but have not made any contact for three weeks.

Tannadice supremo Stephen Thompson said: “Johnny is in the final year of his contract and won’t sign a new one. To protect the club we have to sell him in the summer.”

From the papers it seems like Celtic will wait until a bid is accepted to move in. Obviously can't believe the sun but it seems to be the jist from all the Scottish papers

Looking at the names interested, it seems it's going to be a lot more difficult than Vaughan - Huddersfield tipped for relegation are our only competition.

For Russell, we're up against a serie a side, a relegated premier league side, a team that was in the champions league last 16 and, a newly promoted premier league club and perhaps a few other top half championship clubs! (all rumoured)

I think we have to sit back and take stock of the situation - if we pull this off, we've sent out a statement of intent, but, along with that - we've signed someone who is still relatively unproven!
