Shame we lost him although I think commercial was his strongest suit so he should excel in the new role - he lacked (and admitted this himself) the contact book and football background which is where he struggled a bit and why the DOF thing was mooted. He was clearly a bright guy and learning quick I just hope the owners are a little cautious about getting someone with the same background as him as we can ill afford to wait for the new guy to get up to speed.

The other option is split the roles - if they want one of their own on board with strong commercial experience then fine but they will probably need to also bring in someone on the football side as if Glick was struggling with it after 4 years then the new guy/girl has no hope.

racist comment.

I'm still waiting for a racist to comment. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

We're all members of the human race, even Brummies. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

And Mericans. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Not too sure about Avatars though! 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

mmm...Glick pushes through FFP, which means that clubs that get relegated from the PL are at a huge advantage because of their parachute payments.

Glick votes in favour of the new acadamy rules which means that big clubs with Grade 1 acadamies can take the best young players for peanuts.

Glick then arranges to go to Man City...potential benificiaries of Glick's decisions.

Do we really want agent Glick here all summer...somebody lock up Mason, Will and Jeff quick 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

It seems reading this thread no one has heard the andy appleby interview at all.

My money is GSE will appoint someone no one has ever heard of.

As for the suggestion that GSE would appoint the same local businessmen who slagged them off for not investing and trying to buy back their club from them..... well I think derby winning the premiership in 2 seasons is more likely.

Perhaps the person suggesting this thinks Glick = GSE, Appleby + all the american investors.

He was steadily building the contacts and respect of other football people. Elected to board of football league, sat on two FA committees. I think he was committed to improving that side of his job.

I think it would be good, can see a wage cap coming in, and a more robust structure from grass roots upwards.
