Goalkeeper

Recommended Posts

Just been listening to Adam Legzdins interview on Ramsplayer. He naturally wants to be No.1 goalkeeper.

Just thinking that from what I have seen of him I think he could well be a better keeper than Frank. Frank is a great shot stopper but everytime I see a high ball coming into our box I fear that he isn't going to reach it and if he does will he catch or punch or fumble. Legzdins has looked very sound when he has played. Like Frank he's a very good shot stopper but also very comfortable in the air.

What do you think?

Can't really say much as we haven't seen him much, and in the only full game he played he had pretty much nothing to do.

Best thing about Frankie is his distribution. Different kettle of fish to Bywater, who invited so much pressure on us with his woeful kicking.

Legzdins has skied a couple of kicks hasn't he?

Not sure I agree with that one. He always seems to overhit his goalkicks.

Frankie's more than good enough at this level and is young enough to improve exponentially a hell of a lot.

The problem is, Leggy looks ok as well and is a bit older so is probably desperate to get some games in.

All managers want 2 decent keepers, the problem is keeping them both happy. One way would be to let Leggy go out on loan.

Like Frankie did to us..........................

Just seems odd that we spent £200k on a keeper who was signed as competition to Fielding, but instead we are loaning him out (cannot re-call season long loan players) and look like having a 29-year old(!) Hucknall Town reject on the bench instead next season, who was second choice to a keeper in his mid-40s in the Conference for Burton and is probably still living off that game v Man Utd in 2006!

Think it's very hard to judge over two and half games that he would be better than fielding.

You put Adam Legzdins when Fielding's not about

Legz in Frank out, share it all about,

They're 2 great Derby goalies and they keep goals out

That's what it all about.

Oh Keep 'em both at Derby!

Oh keep 'em both at Derby!

Oh Keep 'em both at Derby!

We'll keep Fielding Legzdins RAMS RAMS RAMS!

(to the tune of Okey Kokey)

Not the best rhyme I've ever written, but it says what I think!
