And he was considerably younger than you. Don't knock it till you've tried it 🥳 Reggie Greenwood

May Contain Nuts
On the original point, a month sober is dead easy. Not that I made a conscious decision to stop, or intend to permanently stop, but 34 days so far. What people say about Guinness 0.0 is true, even though i'm not really a Guinness drinker it does at least taste like beer. I don't miss beer at all now because of that. I miss a glass of wine with certain meals and the alcohol-free wones I've tried are disgusting. I'm hopeful that will change. I've had quite a lot of prolonged alcohol-free spells over the past 5 years due to various health issues, and I can't say I've ever understood the alcohol-free beer market. Some taste more beer-like than others, but they all taste weird, like fizzy malted pop. But ultimately I just don't get why you'd drink confected non-alcohol drinks at a premium when you could just drink lime and soda for a fraction of the cost. Maybe just me Kind of feels like a single bloke buying a blow-up doll when you could just...read a good book 😂

And I do so because I really like the taste. I don't drink lime and soda because I don't like the taste. I also drink other drinks because I like the taste and I eat food that I like the taste of too. I can see how that would be tough to *get* 😬 Stive Pesley

What people say about Guinness 0.0 is true, even though i'm not really a Guinness drinker it does at least taste like beer. Dead easy, but dead boring. I’ve done 2 years before so this isn’t my first rodeo. Replacing the social side more tricky than the actual alcohol itself. Hence the boredom. Work, football, few pints. I’m as simple as they come, wouldn’t say I have any hobbies as such that you can socialise with like the golf course. Absolutely nothing stopping me from going to the pub, socialising and drinking soft drinks. Just feels, for lack of a better word, weird. The idea of going to work for a week then looking forward to a few relaxing Pepsi Max’s is a tough one to get into. I will be away in Liverpool for the start of the month as well, with all those Irish bars I’ve raised the difficulty level ever so slightly. Pogues Mahone was on the list. At the new Blackstock Market for Hot Water Comedy Club on the Saturday and Sunday.

Crewton
I've been trying quite a few Low Alcohol/Alcohol-free beers over the last few months. As well as Guinness 0.0%, my favourites so far have been Ghost Ship 0.5%, Franziskaner Weissbier 0.5%, Big Drop's 0.5% range of beers and a new favourite, Leffe 0.0% which I find surprisingly good (not being a big fan of standard Leffe these days. Alcohol-free wines I just wouldn't bother with, but the wife loves Seedlip alcohol-free spirits. May Contain Nuts
It's not the first place I've seen people to say that ALL AF wines are horrible! They're not something I'd consider anyway tbf. I'm not sure on whether to go for the 0.5% stuff, there seems to be conflicting schools of thought and to me that feels (mentally) like I'd still be risking it affecting my meds / messing with something that could potentially have caused my condition, whereas the ≤0.05% stuff is merely a trace.
