The Way Way Back 8/10

Great feel good movie set over a summer holiday. Great cast, Sam Rockwell, Toni Collette and Steve Carell all doing a fine job.

Snowpiercer: Awesome storyline, action scenes, and acting. Did not like ending too much, but still a solid flick: 8/10.

I really enjoyed this as well. Definitely worth a watch, a really good story line with some excellent action scenes.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

If I had known when I was at school that this was how archaeology worked, I would most definitely have become an archaeologist as opposed to a boring computer specialist.

Spoiler: Good guys 1 Nazis 0

Seen it times, and it just gets better with age.

9/10.

Safe - 6/10 - Standard Jason Statham. Decent action scenes, a bit thin on plot.  There are better Statham films out there.

Crossing The Line - 7/10 - Slow paced documentary focused on James Joe Dresnok, an American soldier who defected to North Korea from the South across the DMZ after the Korean War.  It's not thrill a minute but it's a unique and interesting story that's well worth hearing.

Devil

5 people trapped in a skyscraper lift. One of them is the devil.

Very simple premise and well done IMO. Produced by M Night Shyamalan and you can tell (in a good "Signs" way, not a rubbish "The Happening" way).

For me, though, the spookiest bit is the opening credits, flying around an upside down cityscape. Such a simple idea and yet weird and chilling.

A relatively short film (under 90 mins I think), low key and all the better for it. 8/10

I thought Devil was a terrific movie, very atmospheric, which was surprising given that it's a movie about 5 people trapped in a lift.

Supposedly the first in an anthology series of movies, but that seems to have died a death now. Shame.
