Surviving on £1 a day for food and drink

Message added by Day,

Many families across the county may be forced to rely on food banks for the first time this year, with businesses either closing down or laying off staff.

If you can, even if it's just the cost of a pie and a pint or even a match ticket, please donate and help us put a meal on a family's table tonight.

Classic night before Easter Sunday shopping. I bet the usual suspects were all there.

There wasn't much there. It was open till 10. Too long and drawn out to get lots of bargains.

Any chance of some pictures? I'm thinking it'll look pretty grim for a day's food.

Will do tomorrow. I made a splendid sausage and black pudding potato hash for lunch. About 35p each. May cook it again tomorrow and take a picture.

I had Branflakes for brekkie, haslet sandwiches and a doughnut for tea.

The lad had beans on toast and a doughnut.

Today i bought a 55p loaf and 6 eggs for 89p.

Just under £9 sent so far
