Cricket can be very frustrating.  Bright sunshine but no overs left, despite all the play lost to rain and bad light on previous days. 

Why can't they build in some flexibility to account for this?

Agreed. Add up to 10 overs per day to cover previous time lost.

I did think that, but on balance I'd prefer to see results that reflect the balance of play, whichever way that goes.

Very frustrating, Day 2 ended with bright sunshine after loads of overs had been lost too. I see no reason to lose 2 overs for change of innings either, get all the overs in you possibly can 🤷‍♂️

Don't think the light will last that long during the times that championship cricket is being played. 

Some other rubbish being played during the height of summer....

Couple of changes to the squad for tomorrow

Watt and Aitchison out, Thomson and Wagstaff in, which means at least one change to the team. Either Thomson as a straight swap, or play an extra seamer in Lakmal.

Think Thompson will replace Watt, not sure how fit Lakmal is 🤔

It was mentioned on commentary during the Leicestershire game that it was hoped he would be ready for this one, though emphasis on hope rather than expectation.

I’m almost certain that is the case, very little time was lost last season.

The forecast is good for the next 3 days, so one we get going we should be alright…when that will be though….

No play on day one, not a huge surprise, puddles all over the field. Hopefully with no more rain we can get a full 3 days of cricket...if it dries out in time 😬

The game has finally started, Mitch Wagstaff is in for Matt Lamb, which is a bit of a surprise, not sure if Lamb has an injury. Thomson in for Watt and Lakmal, in for Chappell, which is another surprise.

130-5 with the players off for bad light. Unsurprisingly put into bat by Gloucestershire in difficult conditions it's been a struggle, the good news is Harry Came looking the part as an opener, currently 59 not out.
