Hang on Ken you're getting your quotes wrong, I didn't say that I've not read it. Maybe the local library has a copy, try before you buy?

I didn't say that you've not read it either?!

When you quoted Ella's reply it showed as by me - no worries though. ? I've not read it, no.

I see! That's because you quoted Ella's entire post with just a thumbs up, so that when I selected the text to quote, it came up as you.

Careless of me.

Is it definitely worth £16.79 (on Amazon) just to confirm the date! ?

Although is it a good read?

The blurb says that it lists every player from 1884 - 1888, which didn't sound overly exciting! But, it also mentions that Derby were the youngest club to be founder members of the football League in 1888, and I imagine that how that came about could be quite a tale.

I guess that I should buy it. Costs less than one match day ticket.

Yes a fine book, a lot of historic photos alongside the fascinating story of the club's formation.

Being involved in the heritage stuff myself, (not that any of it has been possible for many months in person!) I do hold author-signed copies of Peter Seddon's book, so PM me if interested!

Matches of a High Order will be arranged.’ Love it, no hoofball in those days. And even better, annual subs only 5 shillings !

Absolutely! ?That was the bit that wound up all the more established local teams like Derby Junction and Derby Midland and Staveley. William Morley was a canny operator and had a clear vision for the fledgling Rams...
