A two week break to refresh ourselves. New owner, new manager, new enthusiasm. The only way is up from here...

A return to an attacking 433:

Marshall

Byrne   Wisdom   Clarke   Buchanan

Bielik

Knight   Bird

Jozwiak   Waghorn   Lawrence

Subs: Marshall, te Wierik, Shinnie, Holmes, Sibley, Whittaker, Rooney

I'd go one further probably

               Marshall

Byrne  Bielik  Clarke  Buchanan

                  Bird

          Knight   Sibley

Jozwiak   Waghorn   Lawrence

Time to stop the formation bingo, and go back to a balanced, attacking 4-3-3:

                   Marshall

Byrne Te Wierik Clarke Buchanan

                      Bielik

                Knight Sibley

    Ibe                                Jozwiak

                   Waghorn

This is Waghorn who was scoring less than Rooney in todays scores? ?

Would rather see Trialist or Stretton if not Rooney!

Well Rooney played most of the game in midfield today......

But Trialist and Stretton are both fair shouts.

Wouldn't want Rooney up there because I want to actually press from the front and he limits that without provided enough up front to accommodate.

Waghorn, similarly to Lawrence looked sharp when they first came back but have increasingly looked tired and jaded. I think (maybe hope) they've played too much in too short a time and after the break we should see them both bounce back. Waghorn is our best striker on paper for me.

He wasn’t great, but he’s the only striker we have. He’s also a lot better than he showed today, and a new manager might get that out of him.

Rooney is shot, far too slow, shouldn’t be anywhere near the side.

Yet he easily got onto that lovely through ball from Joz against QPR. Consider he's on the inside - he has to be coach and player, that must be difficult. I think he's as susceptible to poor management as anyone else. More so, as as I said, he gets both sides of it!

I get that but his performances up front at forest and Cardiff are the best we've seen from  a striker this season.

It's not exactly a high bar but it's something to work with especially as in the last few games he's played large parts wide on the right.

Stretton is other real option I think and hope he can convert his form whilst he's confident.

I’d hardly say he easily got it.... but yeah, he’s a player and a coach. He’s doing a terrible job at both. I’d terminate his contract if we have a choice.

Just a suspicion but I dont think the ref will let us play 17 players, especially with 2 in goal.

True but I'd argue if he was a yard quicker he gets a more obvious chance.

He does have occasional smalm acceleration bursts but it's more his general mobility throughout a game. He's often far too static, just ambles about the pitch and doesnt press.

Saying that I'll admit I thought he looked loads better in midfield today.
