There's like a dozen of them, he'd have to be like the incredible hulk to scare them off.

We staff 1 to 30 in spurs on our wings.

All about presence, your mouth and brain, and having the balls to do something.

He failed. Shouldn't be doing the job. Just my opinion.

But then having thought about it....

We are trained for conflict with dheads, and do it all day, every day.

He might be amazing at domestic abuse support or building ties with local schools.

Can't really train specifically on things like this like we do in our job.

Put 4 legs, a tail and some ears on a ball of cheese and they would probably eat it.

I had some cheese once i left in the fridge too long and it did that by itself...along with a full coat of fur,

Is this set up so people can talk about real politics and we can leave the other one for the communist ideologists to carry on contradicting them selves?

The goal of socialism is communism according to some chap by the name of Lenin.

Anyone else struggling a little with the VE day celebrations today?

Remembrance Day seems like the proper way to think about war. Solemn, and with the emphasis on the tragedy of the number of deaths.

The actual VE day was a proper celebration for people at the time, with the relief that it was finally over. Marking 75 years of that day with our own festivities seems a little trite at the best of times.

With the current situation, the whole things seems a little in bad taste. We are having loads of old people die, especially in care homes.  Must be hard for a 90 year old to watch the VE celebrations alone on tv, after the substandard care home they live in has just lost half it's residents to coronavirus.

Also seems surreal for British/English flags to be hanging everywhere when we are arguably in our worse state since the war. Surely the proudest English/British person today must be wondering how we screwed this up so badly?

All good here. Just put the Union flag up for tomorrow and now waiting for the old super moon to grace rural Hertfordshire.

Are we safe to post happy VE Day without sending the lefties into a mass hysteria.

No, just you.

Fair point, nobody is making you celebrate VE day though.

The actual VE day was a proper celebration for people at the time, with the relief that it was finally over. Marking 75 years of that day with our own festivities seems a little trite at the best of times.

And some of the people are still alive hence why it is still celebrated, this will possibly be the last time a major milestone is celebrated.

With the current situation, the whole things seems a little in bad taste. We are having loads of old people die, especially in care homes.  Must be hard for a 90 year old to watch the VE celebrations alone on tv, after the substandard care home they live in has just lost half it's residents to coronavirus.

Yes, I doubt people who fought in the war will want to remember what was such a momentous occasion for them. Maybe not all of them live in substandard care homes?

Also seems surreal for British/English flags to be hanging everywhere when we are arguably in our worse state since the war. Surely the proudest English/British person today must be wondering how we screwed this up so badly?

Yeah think we should probably get rid of the Union Jack now that we have had a few thousand more deaths than our European neighbours, I've never felt so ashamed to be British. Might replace my Union Jack's with the EU flag for todays celebrations.

Do have to laugh at the media. Apparently they are 'slating Boris Johnson for delivering mixed messages about ending the lockdown'.

They do realise that Boris Johnson is not actually delivering his speech until Sunday and it is them that are muck spreading with their stories in the hope of getting one right?

Fair enough for the old people who remember the original VE day. Would be interesting what they think is the appropriate way to remember the end of the war. Can't help feeling that VE day would have been a chink of light surrounded by death and hardship. If celebrating is how they want to remember, fair play.

I've hardly been impacted by coronovirus and I don't think street parties and celebrations seem in particular good taste. The thousands and thousands of people who have recently lost loved ones might well have much emptier glasses than me.

Your neighbours are gathering in their front gardens aren’t they, and still no sign of an invite. Just go an join in, it could be fun. In our street we have tied a German to a post, and all the kids are going to sing a song about this bloke who only has one testicle. It’s always a great time to be British.

It seems the main problem is with the different leaks that are coming from the government. Cummings style is often to lie to the media off the record, then let the subservient media do the rest. Seems like different parts of the cabinet are now doing their own leaks now and creating confusion. Can imagine Cummings going rogue if he believes that we should be loosening restrictions further. We still don't know why the media sat on the Scientist affair story for so long, or who fed them the story recently.

An old couple across the road are German and Irish. Was thinking of torching their car.
