Only one winner in this game - the pitch. @sage, the Memsahib and I called it a draw at tea on day 1 - just shy of a thousand runs in 3 days for the loss of just 12 wickets. A bowler's graveyard - it was like watching batsmen having a net. We're not even bothering to go tomorrow, settling instead for a few miles walking in the sunshine along the canal. I suppose that it's possible for the captains to contrive a situation whereby a run chase can be set up - say an overnight declaration, Derbyshire have 2 and a half hours or so batting and set Middlesex 300 off the last 50 overs, but that sort of scenario makes the whole thing a farce. Can’t be doing with pitches like that, I lost interest in the game by the tea interval.

We stuck it out until 5:00 pm, then realised that shopping for vegetables at Lidl was more interesting.
sage
Derbyshire making a brave late effort to lose this. 39 for 4.
jimbo jones
Middlesex eventually bowled out for 520 and in typical Derbyshire fashion we are 39-4 ?♂️ Another duck for Alex Hughes, with Madsen (if fit) & Lace waiting to come in, I’d be amazed if he’s not dropped for the next game. jimbo jones
Thankfully Du Plooy & Hosein have halted the collapse.
jimbo jones
69 no from Du Plooy ensured a calamitous defeat was avoided, Hosein scoring 60 odd as well as 6 wickets were lost
jimbo jones
Team to face Worcestershire. I was hoping Hughes & Van Beek would be dropped for Madsen & Lace and that’s exactly what they’ve done. Makes the batting line up look deep, but relies on the all rounders to bowl plenty of overs. But Van Beek has been pretty ineffective anyway. jimbo jones
Obviously Madsen & Lace out early as were 33-3. Winning the toss and batting first looks an interesting decision at the moment.
jimbo jones
63-5 ? Du Plooy & Critchley at the crease. We need a rescue job here...
Reverend
Surely this is not a bowlers pitch. Another very poor batting display. 63-6!! 0-3 in 2.1 overs after lunch. I wonder what they had?

Reverend
Surely this a bowlers pitch then lol ? Worcester 44-
jimbo jones
I think questions might be asked about this pitch. No Worcester batsman has got past 13 yet.
Phoenix
Worcs 82/8 as I type. Wow

jimbo jones
Worcestershire 113 all out a lead of 5. Reece & Godleman made it through to close 19-0. Will be interesting listening to what is said in the interviews.
jimbo jones
Reece & Godleman did a good job getting to 48....and then both got out. This could be all over today at this rate.
jimbo jones
Superb effort from Tom Lace, who does what both teams only just managed yesterday and scores 100 runs, 101 not out to be exact, a good knock of 69 from Madsen as well, we finish the day 272-6. Hopefully we should now set a target of 300 plus
jimbo jones
Tom Lace finishes 132 no, palladino a good 58 his only support today, but a good lead of 370 odd. Worcester in trouble losing 3 early wickets.
jimbo jones
52-5 Hudson-Prentice picking up 2 wickets, from 5 overs without conceding a single run. That’s some bowling. picking up him and Du Plooy is looking like some pretty good business right now.
