eddie
I've been watching the South Africa v Pakistan test series (ah, retirement - wall-to-wall cricket, brilliant) and Duanne Olivier who played a few games for Derbyshire last season has been absolutely outstanding, taking something like 25 wickets in 3 tests at an average of less than 15. Yes, a lot of clubs are interested in him in England. I think we are just a decent No 5 batsman short of being competitive in the Championship this year. Jimbo Ram
See we are yet to sign our overseas player for the 20/20. Who should we go for..specialist bowler, allrounder or a specialist batsman? The squad looks to me a quality batter light and a quality bowler light, but then most teams probably say that......

A big hitting batsmen. They can make all the difference and it’s something We’ve really lacked.
rammieib
Derbyshire will be last in all forms of the game this coming season. If ever I feel unenthusiastic about a line up, it’s this coming season.

We have a crack squad. @eddie

oomarkwright
First game of the season. Good luck guys. Don't fancy playing today or catching a high ball. Need gloves on that ground! Bbbrrrrrhhh! Good hour on radio Derby last night. Talking a good game. Some exciting new young bowling talent. Agree with above. Always a problem with the batting and losing 4-5 wickets cheaply. Will do well to finish top half. We are now only team not to reach 20-20 finals day. That's probly our best chance this year. Come on you Falcons! eddie
Derbyshire won the toss, and it went downhill from there. Reece out first ball, Madsen bowled third ball. 4-2 after 1 over.
