New Potters boss Gary Rowett has made McClean a target following his move from Derby County – having bid for the 29-year-old in January with the Rams.

Stoke have approached the Baggies with a £4m offer, but it is below Albion’s £6m valuation.

Cardiff City are also interested in the Republic of Ireland international, but are yet to make a formal offer.

Albion rejected a bid of £8m for McClean from Burnley last summer and £6m from Rowett’s Derby in January, but the winger only has one year left on his Baggies contract, tempering the club’s asking price.

Rather them than us at that price, never mind the "divisiveness/baggage" that potentially comes with him!!

I don't think you get more 'Gary Rowett' than Afobe & McClean.

But would we be happy if we were signing them? (serious question)

Yes, but for £18m that would be some considerable risk. McClean's best season was 6 goals in the Championship, Afobe's was 13. It's doesn't represent great value, neither player are suddenly going to improve. They're functional, hard working reputable Championship players. The same could be said about Callum McManaman prior to this season.

I doubt very much that at the fees being quoted we could buy them, but then we aren’t a recently relegated Prem club with parachute payments and player sales allowing a (alleged) £100m war chest. It will be interesting to see what team Rowett creates with that money and the style he adopts. You would have thought that 1 or 2 of last season’s team will be willing to stay and be capable Championship players. At the very worst Grant is a more than capable keeper, so that would leave 8 players needed. We’ll soon find out how good a manager he really is.

Griezmann is a very bizarre man, and that is coming from a bizarre man. He created two videos about his future, one video announcing that he is staying at Atletico and one video announcing he is joining Barcelona and he is yet to make up his mind.

He is currently releasing the video announcing his final decision about his future, whilst eating popcorn and playing fortnite before the decision. Named should I stay or should I go.
