jimbo jones
Bit of fight from palladino & Olivier at the end, but some serious questions need to be asked. Other than Slater, that was really poor from the batsmen. But there’s not a lot of options other than bringing in Hosein, but that still leaves the number 4 position being a big problem. im not convinced by Godleman as captain, doesn’t seem much of a motivator and not great tactically either

A loan move for a number 3/4 is required at the very least. Otherwise: Slater, Godleman, Kettleborough (needs must), Madsen, Critchley, Brodrick, Hosein (wkt), Viljoen, Rampaul, Davis/Qadri, Olivier

Could be worth a punt, exciting batsmen on his day.

I think we can safely say that my original comment about this useless pair blocking the younger and more talented Harvey Hosein's pathway well and truly stands. No problem with that but he was injured for this game. He's probably pleased he was?

Remember his big double century against Yorkshire a few years ago, thought he’d kick on after that, but it never really happened. I recall he had some injury problems. but he has 10 first class centuries and an average north of 30. Don’t think he played much for northants last season, and hasn’t been playing this season so perhaps will need a bit more game time for the seconds. woukd definitely utilise hiM for the T20 because he can strike a ball and be explosive, something we seriously lack. jimbo jones
Hosein in the side to face Glamorgan, Wilson back as wicket keeper, so Hosein picked as a batsman. Qadri playing as well

Yeah raised an eyebrow at that, even more that it suggest Godleman going down to 5 and leaving Hughes at 4.
jimbo jones
175-7 hopefully finish them off quickly tomorrow and let’s see what Hosein can do with the bat.

Carnero
Glamorgan 283 Derby 207/3 A welcome return to form for Alex Hughes, let's hope he can take it on further tomorrow. Looks a much better balanced team compared to the last game, with batting down to 7 (Critchley/Wilson) 3 seamers and 2 spinners (offie & leggie). Everyone chipped in so far, Hughes finding some form is good news. In a good position, but we were in the last game so I’ll not get to excited yet.
