Must be a joy to watch Derbyshire, both the weather and team are currently shining.

About £130 each for membership for us pair of oldies. Best dosh I've spent in years.

Hughes much more in his comfort zone batting down at 7 and steered us home with Wilson.

worcester look a good team, so defeat there wasn’t a disaster after following it up with a win.

Been saying that Derbyshire were playing one to many bowlers, looked a lot more balanced with the extra batsman....

A third victory in the one day cup, rain effected match of 33 overs. We made 211-9, which always looked just enough, though needing 24 off the last over, Tom Wells hit two sixes and a four off the first 3 balls. This is Derbyshire, so I feared the worst, but Rampaul pulled it back and we won by 6 runs.

a good day for us, as whipping boys Durham beat Worcester in a rain affected match and the other games were rained off.

Crikey, we made hard work of that...they needed around 40 off the last 2 overs with 7 wickets down and ended up needing a 6 off the last ball to win..phew!!!

To be honest, I was expecting them to get the 6 off the last ball ?

Ravi Rampaul had a brain fart and bowled a no-ball in the last over and conceded a couple of sixes.

Basically Derbyshire controlled the game from start until (nearly) the finish, with Godleman using the slow bowlers to put the squeeze on. Critchley, Reece and Madsen all did well, taking wickets at crucial times and going for very few runs.

It was bitterly cold, damp and murky, but the win warmed us up.

Thanks for the appraisals Eddie, still not able to attend. I thought at least one of these quickies was signed as a specialist death bowler. What happened to that plan?

I think that Duanne Olivier tweaked something early on. He only bowled 3 overs at the start of the Fester innings.

Was listening to about the last 20 minutes on the radio, couldn’t believe the end was so close.

Even Dave Fletchers voice reached an octave more than his usual dry, dull as ditchwater excitement; fortunately the radio Leicester commentator was a good foil and bought the tension through the radio. Made it sound like Wells could save them right until the third last ball, then dulcet Dave calmed me down.

Wasn't the Scots lad Sharif supposed to be a specialist death bowler?

Blew that really.

Having said that, when you look at the Yorkshire side we did well to give them such a test.

Onwards to Lancs on Sunday. I will be attending so we're guaranteed to lose if the weather doesn't beat both teams first.
