The bookies list is the same tired old names apart from Warburton who won't come. (and Flores)

Can't we have a proper football manager for a change? A foreign one?

What's wrong with looking at people like Flores, or Markus WeinZierl ( http://outsideoftheboot.com/2015/08/05/tactical-philosophy-markus-weinzierl/ ) or others?

Tim Sherwood? do we want success or just a bit of a laugh on a Saturday?

Sherwood will bring success!!!

Is Ian Holloway a realistic option? Bookies have him at 33/1 yet he's got the experience, plays attacking football, well organised and has brought some good players on.  On the negative side he's not always spoken well of Derby on sky ( much of what he has said is true)

Shows he can be his own man and leaves an opening for Darren Wassall to be in the coaching staff

I think we need to find a right way to use him. He is something different to what we have but his technique and passing are not his strong points. If we can use him to just be the wrecker without expecting him to play tika-taka he may be useful. Against cardiff away on the left wing it was dreadful, next match, hull at home, he was immense doing what he does.

He was awful in the play offs but we'll chalk that up to him not being fit.

Totally agree, Just need him used properly and he'll be brilliant for us.

Oscar Garcia? Did a decent job at Brighton playing a 4-3-3 and was doing a good job at Watford, but had to resign due to health issues.

Fawaz wanted him apparently

Career Summary

Tim Sherwood has held two manager roles in the Barclays Premier League - at Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

Sherwood's first role was at one of his old club's, Tottenham Hotspur, where he took over from Andre Villas-Boas in December 2013, initially on an interim basis and then full-time until the end of the season. He led Spurs to a sixth place finish and UEFA Europa League qualification, before leaving the club in May 2014.

Sherwood had been involved in the coaching set-up at the North London club since 2008, when Harry Redknapp brought him into the backroom staff. Before replacing Villas-Boas, Sherwood guided Spurs’ U21 side to the final of the inaugural Barclays Under-21 Premier League, before losing narrowly to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Aston Villa appointed Sherwood in February of the 2014/15 season, replacing Paul Lambert, with the sole objective of keeping the club in the Barclays Premier League. Sherwood turned the club's fortunes around and eventually guided Villa to 17th - three points from the relegation zone. However, after a disappointing start to the 2015/16 season, Aston Villa announced they had parted company with Sherwood on 25 October 2015.(7 months ago)

As a player, Sherwood enjoyed a successful Barclays Premier League career, making 341 appearances and scoring 37 goals in 12 years in the top-flight. He was an instrumental figure in Blackburn Rovers’ success in the early 1990s, and he was captain as Rovers won the Barclays Premier League title for the first time in the 1994/95 campaign.

Does sherwood being the new favourite have anything to do with Harry redknapp? Were they together at Tottenham?

I'm going to be disappointed if we go for Sherwood I think. Feels a bit like appointing the anti-Clement really, a loud and controversy seeking man who seems to conflate dedication, effort and talent with just looking like you really, really want it all the time and pumping your fists a lot etc... a lurching response that doesn't really seem to be about the future as much as just getting a big name through the door.

I'd rather have QSF (although why he doesn't have better offers is beyond me) or failing that, Rowett. Both would be great, they seem thoughtful and considerate people with a good track record.
