hi guys pools fan here. Not quite the draw we wanted. We would of prefered one of the north east teams or a big prem team away for the money. Still though home tie against yourselves could of been a lot worse. I think people are a bit disappointed as were not very good in fact id say dreadful and have been for the last 6 years or so. Not many people will give us a chance in this one. Just a few things our ground holds just short of 8000 plans are apparently to extend the away end where you will be sitting to a double tier 3000 seater in future years. At the moment you will get about 1030 tickets so doubt there will be too many problems with anyone who wants a ticket can get one and even if they sell out I'm sure you could get in our home end on the day. We don't quite have the hooligan following we had back in the 80s. Pretty friendly at pools now. Though if people want trouble im sure they could find it. The ground itself totally changed from the dump it used to be infact its a proper football ground bang in the town centre with loads of pubs near and possibly one of the best atmospheres in the lower leagues on its day. Saying all this we got to beat Salford yet and that is by no means certain. By the way does anyone remember that game in the 80s in the fa cup what an atmosphere that was. I was only a young lad but remember fighting all game in the stands. Still remains one of my best memories beating yourselves that day. Just shows how few and far good days are apart following us. As for the weather been tropical this winter hardly a cold day but come January can be Baltic and people wonder why we only get 4000 crowds. I think the weather is one reason sometimes. Good luck on beating the smoggies to promotion.

Aw thanks for the last bit of your post that made my day haha.

hey guys I wandering if hartpool will give us two stands

Not a chance in hell, unless they lose to Salford of course then I guess they will give us the whole ground.

Got my ticket this morning, the ticket office said we have only sold 150 so far and they don't expect us to sell anymore.... poor turn out, but i guess at 85 pound a ticket it can be expected.

Oh the nostalgia! I remember the Grange pub after the games and the (Old) Swan in Billingham for the heavy rock nights! Sw Pools lose 6-2 at home to (dirty) Leeds when Newton and Houchen were up front. Now there was some fighting that night!

the swan pub dont think that's changed much over the years. Had a bit of aggro with Leeds here few years ago too. Always a bit tasty with them. Though nothing compared to a darlo pools game.

no chance mate the Cleveland police like a three mile radius between fans as they cant cope at the best of times. I would expect around 5000 for this game maybe more. We have around 3200 season ticket holders and should be good following from yourselves.

Noticed the Billly Arms has now gone - had some nights in the old fessie bar. Telstar and Black Horse in old Billy always had good crac!

Aye, went with the Pools fans to Feethams and had to dodge the concrete blocks raining down on the away end. Every kid in the town centre thought he was 'hard' that night although we did put a couple of them right who thought they might have a go at our car!

not many people realise outside the two towns the hatred in them games. They are not for the feint hearted seen plenty of games around the country yet not much has come close to that derby match.

Plenty of lower league v Premier fixtures in the third round for the TV companies to chose from this year - Exeter v Liverpool, Wycombe v Villa and Oxford v Swansea among the best

Whats the betting , though, that they go for boring all-Premier matches, like Arsenal v Sunderland or Norwich V Man City like they have in previous years, totally missing the whole point of the Cup.

It was a Saturday 3pm KO as far I can remember and I think it was Newcastle who turned up not boro as Newcastle were playing the next day in a televised match (before sky).I can remember Chris Waddle on the pitch before the match doing a presentation.

Definitely organised they were fights in every stand that day.

That's right definitely 3.00 k.o and was going on all round but largely those looking for it as we never got involved. Remember driving back in dark and taking ages. Only match we drove to that year, did the football special a few times.

We never learned our lesson, did the same to Gillingham 2 years later for another dull cup match and I can't remember a single thing about that goalless game except freezing on the open terrace!
