Junior Hoilett and Matt Phillips

We have a world-class coach, an excellent scouting network, the set-up of the entire club from top to bottom is heading in the right direction - yet still the usual suspects think that they are the better judges of a player and how they would - or more to the point wouldn't -  be good enough to improve the current side.

How fortunate Derby County are to have such knowledgeable fans.

:p

I think Junior Hoilett is ace.

Aged 43

If you are only 44, you must really have had a hard life. Your decision to not reflect on your current relationship with Daveo is slightly disappointing from a goss point of view, but I respect your integrity. If we are going to buy a Hoillett I think we should buy Senior.

P.s. Memo to Ambitious: Thankyou for the stats on Matty Phillips. Quite surprising. I thought he might make a difference. I now suspect not.

Junior Hoilett and Matt Phillips were brilliant for QPR when Steve McClaren was there and then dropped off as soon as he left.

I didn't think Hoilett did much in the play-off final, but I did remember being wary of him.

Both would be good signings, but it depends what form we can get them in.

Not sure I agree with you there.

Hoilet has been heavily criticised on the limited amount of playing times he has had and he has been played in position.

Not good enough for the Premiership and would not be a good loan deal IMO.

His only decent time was at Blackburn and I think all of you are judging him by his bygone days.

''Bygone days''???

He's 24 man, get a grip! He's probably not even hit his peak yet but you're saying he's past it...

Yeah but 99.9% of players improve with us .

No offence but the idea that 99.9% players improve with us is a total myth.

Has keogh improved?

Fozzy, bryson, and bucko have gone backwards.

Is Dawkins improving?

Buxton gone backwards?

Since when? Because he misplaced a pass on Saturday?

I would say since Forsyth has been here he has improved, just having a bad spell.

Bryson over achieved in the sense that he scored way more than most midfielder last year, I would say overall he has improved

Buxton without a doubt has improved since he's been with us.

and noone really knows what Dawkins was like so can't really comment on if he has improved or not

No....not because of a misplaced pass.

I just compare bucko now with the chest thumping pumped up star from last season.

As seen at barnsley away for example.

He was at the top of his game.

So much better than the shaky bloke who played alongside Miles Addison.

Now he looks nervy and scared of making an error.

And he was also beaten on the outside a couple of times v chesterfield.

I think dropping him for whitbread and then shotten has taken away some of his confidence and belief.

I'd like to see him back to that level.
