sage Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Who is your most average player. Not terrible but not great either. I'll go with Paul Blades.
TigerTedd Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Who is your most average player. Not terrible but not great either. I'll go with Paul Blades. He lived down the road from me in mickleover. His kids went to my school. It was a pretty average house, on a pretty average street, and a pretty average school, to be fair. Clearly footballers wages hadn't gone berserk at that stage.
Wsm-ram Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Martin Kuhl.. Although his football ability was distinctly average at best,he more than made up for it in menace and tenacity.
Curtains Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Derek Hales cost a fortune from Charlton but was really average for us
Wsm-ram Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Trevor Hebbard ???. This could turn out to be a very long thread as we have thousands to choose from over the years...
Curtains Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Derek Hales Never performed for the Rams was very average.
sage Posted April 21, 2014 Author Posted April 21, 2014 Hebbard was above average IMO. Whoever said Mel Sage will sleep with the fishes.
Ambitious Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 In my time, I would say the most average player I can remember is possibly Ian Taylor - he did a job, even scored 11 in his first season at the club. Although, I think most of them were penalties. I would have been 12 at the time, so please forgive me if he was in fact a brilliant player. I could also throw in Adam Bolder, who in fairness, was the epitome of do a job.
eddie Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Arthur Stewart - but I will never forget the goal he scored at BellEnd road in the League Cup semi-final
Smalley Ram Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Micky Lewis for me, a poor man's Geraint Williams
Abu Derby Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Steve McClaren. Seemed to have potential as a player but what with injuries, didn't quite live up to expectations.
Boycie Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Most of Cloughs signings, with exception of about 3-4
