Alph
I wouldn't argue with that, certainly one of the better centre halves in the league.. snip at £1M. What do you guys make of Grant? hated by most of our fans, a good shot stopped but a flapper from crosses and a real lack of communication. Like Hudson says, since Steele came in, Grant has been full of confidence and get the majority of his decisions right. Good luck in the PL. Hope we join you. Think we will if we avoid Wigan. I still fancy us if we do meet Wigan but I think they're a more complete team than Reading or whoever lands 6th. QPR for all their talent are a bunch of arrogant mercenaries who expect everyone to roll over for them and are managed by a guy who expects the exact same. He lost 18 players in the summer you know? Built this team out of unwanted players you know? Richard Dunne hadn't played for a year, you know? I'd love to beat the horrible deluded club. davenportram
. I got confused by the title, had to check the Burnley result twice... Barnsley v Burnley is a bit confusing. But hey Burnley are up well done to them they deserve it. I once got to Pride park - preseason ticket- to find someone say in our seats. When we checked tickets they'd got in on Tickets for the Burnley game the week before, and we were playing Barnsley. Easy mistake to make.

Day
I'm sure Burnley and every other club in the league have had games where a refs decision has cost them goals and points. That's football. Burnley have won 2 more games than us and we have lost 7 more than them. We don't deserve to be 2nd, Burnley do.

I agree that Wigan would be the biggest challenge also; Reading, QPR and Ipswich are all beatable as long as we bring our 'A-Game' and play at our best. YorkshireRam
Well not to me they do not. Football is about getting results and that means sometimes grinding out results in tough games, Burnley have been better than us at doing that. We've been naive at times, ie. Birmingham away, and that naivety has cost us points. Over the course of the season, Burnley have been a better side than us, shown by their league positioning and, ultimately, they deserve the promotion more than us, in my opinion. We may have had a hard time at Burnley but Millwall we were poor with Sammon up front don't blame the ref there. Also do you remember the win against Bournemouth? Chris Martin's free kick well that was never a free kick in the first place. That's a win that we shouldn't have had. Also we have played the 3rd best football in the league, because we are 3rd in the league! Saying Burnley don't deserve 2nd is very disrespectful to them and to Sean Dyche. Have you heard McClaren moan once about the referee? No so that's the outlook you should have. Refs don't mean to get decisions wrong and I'm sure we are not the only team in the league that gets bad refs.
davenportram
Or QPR were in a false position and so were we due to how the fixtures came out of the hat.
Ram@Lincoln
As much as we're all kissing Burnley's bum, I wonder what the league would look like if it started at the Ipswich game when Steve first came in? All pure speculation, but it's interesting to think that maybe, if we had Steve since the start, we'd be talking about 1st still being on. PS I am a big Clough fan, so don't start, but I'm pretty sure the form table from Steve's start put us second last time I looked (but that was a couple if weeks ago). So when you say Burnley are the better team over a season, that's true, but you're effectively comparing them to two teams. When compared just against Steve's team, I think we are the better team. So **** Burnley I say. What the **** is this ******* Burnley love in all about anyway Just been searching around for something that will do the league between certain dates. Below is the table from 1st October, so including the Ipswich result. - edit - picture is coming up tiny, here's the link to the image hosting website. http://postimg.org/image/l94m4gzup/ "http://s8.postimg.org/l94m4gzup/table_from_1st_october" alt="table_from_1st_october"> Below is the table from 2nd October, so excluding the Ipswich result. - edit - picture is coming up tiny, here's the link to the image hosting website. http://postimg.org/image/oow2wtr65 "http://s30.postimg.org/oow2wtr65/table_from_2nd_october" alt="table_from_2nd_october"> Below is the table from 1st January. - edit - picture is coming up tiny, here's the link to the image hosting website. http://postimg.org/image/pkbrdb8kb "http://s9.postimg.org/pkbrdb8kb/table_from_1st_january" alt="table_from_1st_january"> Surprising to see that since the start of the year, Sheffield Wednesday have been better than us by 2 points. Curtains
We dropped 13 points at home pre Super Mac. Losing 0-3 to Burnley. 0-1 to Leicester . 1-3 to Reading. Drew 1-1 with Blackburn and 4-4 with Ipswich. I suggest that would not have happened with McClaren.
