The demise of Forest

Huddersfield aren't bad and gave us a good game at their place.

Make no mistake that's a fantastic result for Forest and they will genuinely see themselves as automatic promotion chasers too.

Burnley winning was abit of a blow but they won't run away with second place. QPR look a tired team and lack a goal threat.

Second place is between four teams now. The Championship promotion race probably hasn't been this close/exciting in a long time

Is that the same Huddersfield that lost 5-1 to the dirties, who are, it is agreed, ****. Huddersfield are one of those inconsistent teams where they either show up, or they don't.

Taking nothing from Forest, good victory, this really will go down to the wire, but beating Huddersfield 3-0 doesn't necessarily make them world beaters.

Them beating Huddersfield away 3-0 matches any of our away games this season.

Leeds may have tonked them at Elland Road, but Huddersfield were at home and have a solid home record - losing only three before last night.

I expected Forest to scrape a draw or something, but comfortably winning 3-0 and being the better team was impressive.

Gotta give it to Davros, he's dragging them up there and at the moment they don't look like losing a game.

Their next three games are tough though and will be an examination of their automatic promotion hopes.

Don't disagree with any of that. I expected a draw at best. But Huddersfield do seen to be one of those teams that is prone to a collapse. Otherwise they'd be doing a lot better.

So I'll reserve judgement until after the next few games.

I'll give them a big sloppy kiss if they can beat Burnley for us though.

That works out for me, going on the offset of home form/away form...etc Burnley are the most likely to pinch 2nd, we're second most likely, QPR third and Forest fourth.

Obviously this works on averages though, Burnley's home games look very hard. Our's look easy,

when you think we lost our first three home games, since September, we've only lost one home game, drawing 2 and winning 8... since Steve actually took charge we've won 8, drawn 1 and lost 1.

We stand a good chance on that basis alone.

oh, and my boss isn't in today - if you were wondering.

Also to add, under McClaren we're averaging 2 points a game... which would leave us with 87 which is one point below the average of Champions total in this division,

and is the same amount of points as the highest side that has finished 3rd.

Well above the average it takes for promotion, but will it be enough?
