Uptherams
According to Martin Allen: The best piece of business in the transfer window so far involves a Chelsea player – but forget Juan Mata. Derby County have signed 20-year-old centre-forward Patrick Bamford on loan from the Blues. And Bamford has already scored twice in three games, coming off the bench for Steve McClaren. They say promotion to the Premier League is worth £120million. If Bamford starts firing this master swoop from McClaren could be worth a fortune. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2546299/MAD-DOG-ON-MONDAY-Martin-Allen-weekly-column-David-Moyes-Stan-Collymore-Patrick-Bamford.html

Whoneedshuls
Question for you how would Bamford do playing the number 10 role just behind martin with ward and Dawkins on the flanks might be worth a go as hendrick is out for tomorrow. Rest Hughes again

Rest Hughes again No need to start Eustace tomorrow. So I would stick Bamford behind Martin

Alph
How cleanly does he strike the ball!? I thought he was quite quiet against Blackburn and only 3 moves from him really spring to mind. A cross field diagonal pass to Dawkins. It was as good as you'll see in any league. It flew at waist height like a bullet but was straight to Dawkins feet and as soon as it skipped off the turf it lost pace and Dawkins could take it in his stride His goal was brilliant. The pass to him wasn't really the sort of pass where you can take one touch and shoot. His first touch wasn't really that great but to so quickly adjust to it and whip it so cleanly into the corner was not something you'd get from anything other than a player who has a natural instinct for striking cleanly at goal. His other shot from inside the area wasn't on target but he hit it really cleanly again. He took it quickly from a tight angle and it was just struck so well. Hard to explain what's so different about him but you can see why he's highly rated. He's so quick and instinctive to shoot but you don't see any panic. The contact he gets is just not what you see from Ward or Sammon or Dawkins or even Martin. It's much sharper. Really hard to explain. He didn't do much else though. He drifted central too much for us to even attack down the right and so everything was either down the left or it was Martin picking it up a bit deeper and holding it up before it eventually went to Dawkins or Forsyth. Don't know if he's quite done enough to start. Yeovil would be as good opponent as any but do we really want to start tinkering when the same 12/13 lads have got on so well? That free kick v Brighton must be the worst contact he's had all season.

Dimmu
4 in 4 is excellent. But it's hard to find him a place in team, he has so obvious striker movement. And dropping Martin ain't option, only way to get Bamford to his natural position would be injury or chance in tactics.
TigerTedd
Well we've got enough players now that maybe we could try a couple of different formations in different situations. To be fair, the normal formation isn't not working with 4pts in 2 games. But it's clear we could still improve defensively. With a second dm we can now bring on, there are so many options. But Steve Mac only seems to do like for like changes. Maybe a case don't fix what ain't broke, we could make it worse. We could, do example take of Will bring on Thorne and go 4-2-4 with Bamford and Martin up the middle. Or go 4-4-2. The defense has to stay as it is, but surely we have more creative options for the attack and midfield now to keep the opposition in their toes if we need a change of momentum or pace. Course, that's why I'm not a football manager.

Alph
I'm trying to stop slating him because it sounds like I'm gunning for him. He's got an instinct for goal and comes to life up to 25 yards. Yes. That's what he's good at
