ladyram
So this Mr Evans. I'm getting confused about his role. RD this morning said one of his jobs is to deal with agents. Surely SR would be better suited to this?

Surely SR would be better suited to this? First rule of being at the top. 1. Do fck all and delegate everything. (Thereby avoiding direct responsibility for anything). Mostyn6
Anyway, Chris Evans, wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilllllll he come? I get that if nobody else does Boycie. lol So this Mr Evans. I'm getting confused about his role. RD this morning said one of his jobs is to deal with agents. Surely SR would be better suited to this? I think it means taking the phonecall from the agents, not the thrashing out deals with the agents. I've heard a lot of managers moaning about being disturbed/distracted by an agent ringing to get a move for their players, I think Evans will be the man to field the call, check out the player, and then if suitable, pass on the details to Steve McClaren. I'd imagine if 1 in 10 was a decent player, at least McClaren wouldn't have wasted valuable coaching time scouting the 9 rubbish players.

CumbrianRam
Derby County have today appointed Chris Evans as their new Head of Football Operations. Evans, who is 51, joins the club with immediate effect and was in attendance at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday to watch the Rams’ Sky Bet Championship victory over Sheffield Wednesday. The key areas of the newly-created role will include a focus on recruitment, management of the scouting system and providing operational support to Head Coach Steve McClaren. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/article/derby-confirm-evans-appointment-1168632.aspx

McRainy
Think Tango is right, Megson's recruitment to build their promotion squad was spot on; Ben Marshall and Antonio were excellent signings at that level. Not his fault that Jones has completely destroyed all the good work they did.
