Sadly not just me being resourceful I think if we got flint in we could move Forsyth over to LB /LWB to cover for Elder

now say we sold Bird for £2.5-3m plus we might be able to possibly get a striker for a small fee + Sharp so say a league 1, non league striker . maybe get a midfielder as part of bird deal + wages for 2 extra players .

say we have a final budget of £800k including wages add bird to that we might now have budget of plus £1m giving us more wiggle room.

as my source said probably 5 players we are after with bird potentially going I see that figure remaining as I think we’ll get 1 maybe 2 as part of the hull deal

Why do I have a feeling Rhodes goes to Wrexham after Mullen’s injury 

It does appear that outside the prem , in this country there’s no significant transfer dealings besides say Coventry with their money from Gokeres. I’m happy with a business so far ideally I’d like us to now just focus on loans or 6 month frees then we can reassess in January. Do you reckon we might hold back some of the budget for January period?

Trav this is indeed the case average and league 1 standard strikers are being given vastly inflated wages. E.g. Ladapo was on apparently £5k at Rotherham now at Ipswich my source believes around 14-16 more likely the former!

Talking to someone connected with the club today briefly spoke about transfers apparently Warne has spoken to 8 players from 4 clubs + free agents. Originally he was looking at signing three players but has approached clowes to discuss the possibility of upto 5 coming in. No names besides a strong indication one coming in is sharp, waggy is 50:50 might sign him to booster the over age players in u23s and the first team. Positions spoken about are as follows LWB but Warne is struggling with that and might go for a LCB /LB , A 10 that looks to be a prem loan , two strikers - one older poacher type currently looking at Sharp , waggy , assombolonga and wickham the other is a young championship player and finally it appears another CM likely more of an older head. The player Warne is frustrated about was Rhodes apparently had agreed a 1 year deal with an optional extension but  no showed a medical  Saturday morning his agent came back saying he wanted more money  plus an 18 month deal. My source is in the media department

I think the restrictions went from £0 to say max spend £200-300k including wages hence why all have either been free or promotion bonuses you’re not going to build a  complete top squad with £200k. 
 

realistically though say the restrictions were removed what’s the max do you think clowes would spend in league 1? I’d imagine no more than £750k maybe 1m tops
