Are there any legitimate bits in a paper yet?
Depends on what you qualify as legitimate. Nixon (Sun football writer) linked us to Herbie Kane the day Barnsley announced he was leaving on a free. Darren Witcoop (The Mirror) has tweeted this evening that Rotherham are allegedly interested in Sibley. Local press in Derby and Cardiff regurgitated the same story this week that we’re still interested in signing Ebou Adams…. Then there’s loads of nonsense links from social media accounts. And some people on here with some alleged inside info suggesting we’re interested in signing Daniel Iversen the Leicester goalie (they and their sources/info may or may not be legitimate so there’s no real way of knowing).
Our transfer business under Warne has been mostly been kept quiet until the deals are nearly done so personally I’ve accepted there’s gonna be loads of speculation, of which most of it will probably be untrue, and we’ll see who we’re signing pretty much within hours of the deals being officially announced.

Mentioned by @Eoghan1884 in the retained list thread, the Mirror fella on X saying Rovrum are interested in Sibley. Suspect it’s the same as me being interested in Keira Knightley, she’s not necessarily going to reciprocate that desire…..but there’s a slim chance, isn’t there?! 😭

He's not out of contract until June 2025 but Lucas Jensen ,the GK of Lincoln is Danish
I know he’s not, I didn’t say he was out of contract. We could be in for a keeper and willing to pay a fee as we’re no longer under restrictions.
There have been a number of posters on here saying we’re signing (or at least interested in) Iversen, so I was just looking to clarify if this was likely more of the same rumour or something different. -

I have a bit of an ITK - for the first time ever. We're apparently signing a 'keeper from Denmark. I don't know any more than that.
I'll leave it to @Ghost of Clough to do better research as to who it could be...
As in a ‘keeper currently playing their football in Denmark, or a ‘keeper of Danish heritage (which matches the other ITK rumours that we’re getting Daniel Iversen from Leicester)?

Signed for Stoke, put a line through this particular one

This will be so much better than the Premier League one, so many players to choose from. Player prices needs to be evened out regardless of league otherwise you'll be filling it with just league 1 and 2 high flyers.
Would love them to follow a similar model to the NRL SuperCoach (Aussie rugby league) game. Player prices fluctuate based on their average scoring over rounds, so if a player goes on a great run of form he gains value and you have decisions to make then as to whether you keep him in your side or sell him when his price is high to then get one of the top players in the game. By managing these price changes effectively with your trades you can stack your team with the best players per position.

Bolton have been decent all season….one bad game doesn’t change that.
Indeed, they finished third in the table and played some good football along the way, it was no fluke.
Maybe the occasion has got to them today, one game too far type thing, as well as credit to Oxford for their performance and game management. -
Bolton have to go for it second half, will Oxford have it about them to manage the game and see it out?

Any Bolton players you want lads 😂😂
Think your Ogbeta shout is decent. As you mentioned he’s confirmed to be leaving the Swans, 23 years old on a free he’d be a good option alongside Elder down the left which potentially frees Sibley (if he re-signs) to play in midfield/further forward.

My case in point.
If you did have a girlfriend, what position does she play, what’s her name, and do you pay a fee for her company or is she a free agent…. 😉

I think i'll be hearing over the next few days exactly who we're in for with a lot of details. Already know some. As per, I won't put any particular details on here though unless it becomes more public and confusion needs clearing, as I can't be arsed with 24 hrs of people screaming that i'm talking out my rear and demanding sources. I don't why people bother. Take it or leave it without the grief handed out in spades. No need really.
We’ve got the retained list now, we need more stuff to be impatient about… 😁 -

So folks I’ve heard from my contact the following:
gone
Wildsmith
Waghorn
JJ
gayle
hourihane
smith
forsyth - to be offered some type of coaching
new contract offered
Thompson
collins
sibley
barks
Contract offered to 3-4 out of contract players including these I’ve had confirmed
BurrowsHerbie Kane
Tyrese Campbell
Fair play Simmo this was mostly accurate in terms of the retained list….I still don’t buy that Smith had an attitude problem for being “dropped” when it was injury and recovery that took him out the team though 😉 🍻

I gave out the Iversen info, and as you say there’s no media links. I have zero ITK usually, all I’ll say on this one is it’s about as reliable as it gets.
Same source also told me we are NOT interested in Johannson.
Sorry, my point wasn’t to question the reliability of yourself, your source, or others saying we’re in for him, just pointing out that a transfer thread is normally only started when there’s a “reputable” media link.
The way our business has been since Warne took over the forum ITK’s are potentially more reliable than the media links that crop up linking us to all and sundry! -

Wildsmith getting some keyboard warrior abuse on good ol' social media. He's completed his contract, a big part of the promotion campaign. Proved to everyone he can be a number one and not a bench warmer.
Well done Joe. Good luck for next season.
There are some real cretins out there, unpleasant comments levelled at Wildsmith and reactionary catastrophising of the finest order aimed at the club such as “we’re guaranteed relegation now” and words to that effect.
Hopefully most people are able to accept the decision, respect and acknowledge his contribution to the club’s recovery over the last 2 years, and wish him and his replacement well for the future.- SSD, Kathcairns and Premier ram

So with the retained list being announced I make the current squad under contract for next season to be;
GK - Vickers
LB - Elder
LB - Forsyth
CB - Nelson
CB - Cashin
CB - Rooney
CB - Bradley
RB - Nyambe
RB - Wilson (or RWB)
RWB - Ward
CM - Thompson
CM - Fornah
WF - Blackett-Taylor
WF - Barkhuizen
WF - Mendez-Laing
CF - Washington
With potentially Sibley and Collins to add in. So we’ll need, what… 2 or 3 strikers, another wide forward, 2 or 3 or even 4 midfielders, another cb, another lb/lwb and a couple of keepers?

That's the club's wording in the statement, rather than coming directly from Dom.
So it is, just read it back

Local media view;
Interested in the wording by Dom Dietrich, “Tom Barkhuizen and Craig Forsyth activated clauses”…. Sounds like it was in the players’ favour rather than the club’s? 🤔 Appearance based as hinted at earlier in the year? Or am I scrabbling for a conspiracy that isn’t there 🤣

Don't agree with Korey Smith being released as that leaves us without anyone in midfield.
Thompson here for further 12 months and Fornah under contract, plus Darren Robinson signed a new deal, but yes lots of work to do.

Agreed. I like silly season, love a good rumour, but would much rather the club actually go about business quietly and the news break once we’re close to announcing it. Such as the Adams deal in January, he mentioned talks had taken place before the African Nations Cup and it wasn’t until 31/01 that that Pete O’Rourke broke the story and he signed that day.
