  1.  I want a win here, but not at the expense of losing someone like Jagielka.

Play the younger guys, accept they won't be the finished article and, if we win - happy days, if we lose at least we gave those coming through the system a good run out.

More important to me is that if we see a similar display of determination and bravery in this team as we've started to see in the first team, then we get an idea that the management is working to instil a certain ethic through the club - and that to me would be a win as well.

Oh for the opportunity to see the match in person!

  2.  If I were honest, if you had asked me before the start of the season, after the first few games I expected a draw at home - a draw or even nothing away. A minus points balance (thanks to a 6 point deduction), a big loss (probably to Gibson's lot) and team really struggling to keep its head up. This season was all about being better than 4th bottom.

Just an opinion, and I know it's very early days, but it feels the team is more positive and we don't seem to be the whipping boys most commentators expected. I'm not Rooney's greatest fan, but he appears to really want some resilience in the team and expects focus as a bare minimum. Doing it with absolutely bog-all investment is pretty rare for us and is icing on the cake.

I just get the feeling this is "personal" for him and that's a powerful motivator.

If he can continue to keep this going and possibly instil a little killer instinct going up front that would be real progress.

Now I dare to think of mid-table, not bad for a "team in crisis".

I heard from a reasonably reliable source yesterday that we have an incoming 3 point penalty. I hope it’s not true but wouldn’t surprise me. Hopefully then that’ll be the end of it.

Less than I had feared, and it's early enough for us to make some decisions.

  4. My first post, so please be gentle!

I've not been able to get to a match this season following an operation, (I know, bad timing ?), and had to listen to radio Derby for my Rams fix.

I have to say, while nothing matches the match-day feeling, the enthusiasm of the crowd is fantastic! Even when I felt fed up and a little low immediately after the operation, I could listen in and dream of being there. It must really lift the players knowing that there's so many behind them.

When I'm back on my feet in a few weeks, (I hope), I'm off to Pride Park to enjoy it in the first person, standing up of course because I hate Forest!
