kevinhectoring got a reaction from ck- in Derby vs Wycombe Wanderers
I wish people would stop posting these portentous sunset pictures. It just begs the unsettling, metaphorical question : what is the sun setting on ? It’s surely too majestic simply to mark the end of a winning run. Not setting on Max Bird’s career as a Ram I hope - tho he doesn’t look especially happy in a Derby shirt these days. Maybe it’s setting on a period of mediocre, inconsistent form and the new dawn will herald in JJ as our talismanic striker and young Tommo as a bedlington terrier-like ratter in midfield, and together they will spearhead an assault on the automatics and beyond. Or perhaps it signals the demise of the testicled referee? It’s all very unsettling

Warney doesn’t seem to learn though does he? Tactically he is left wanting at times. In my view once fully fit Thommo should play. He fills the void of energy and pace we currently lack in midfield.

Always so confused about Fornah’s usage. He comes in, plays well, the midfield in general works better, then he goes back to the bench and we play worse.

Can't agree with that at all, it's a system that has earned us 5 wins on the bounce, seen us gain ground on the top 2 and move up the league. The players didn't perform today, sometimes you can point the finger at the manager, but today imo wasn't one of them.
He made changes early, he made changes throughout, it still didn't make a difference, sometimes the players hold the responsibility on what happens on the pitch. Taking his interview out of context once again is no surprise, his words "point when you're playing bad is OK" shows that he is honest in opinion.
He also mentions to many times crosses were out into the empty box, so he recognises believe it or not where the problem was.

He’s picking the wrong team for a start. Barkhuizen and Fornah both need to start. Then he needs to set us up so we can actually play the ball through the midfield instead of putting everything long or wide. Hourihane sitting that deep makes no sense. Aerial crosses to Cashin, Nelson, whomever, at set pieces are fine. Crosses in open play are - with our front line - largely a waste of time.
Amazing to hear our manager describe today’s result at home against Wycombe as ‘a well-earned point’.

Why? We were awful today until we changed it, then we got better

Well I thought the ref was the best one in the division last year and I haven't changed my mind. I thought all the cards were reasonable, but I may have warned Sibley personally. There was a foul in the second half where she played a good advantage, but I thought there would be a yellow card afterwards that never arrived. I thought their penalty was correct and NML's didn't look like a foul. I may change my mind if I see it again though.

I hear he also didn't know what to spend his £2m compo on either.
Yer know... the £2m compo he got for not being in a position to adhere to his side of an agreed employment contract. That £2m compo.

Come on, is it really necessary to use that word to describe the ref? I don't think so.

- with this squad we should be better: Nelson, Ward, Bird , Cashin, Fornah, NML, Barkhuizen, Wilson, Wildsmith, Fozzie
- you don’t win the play offs if you don’t manage games well

And that is why the first half, although there was not much in the way of end product, was better. We scored from a cross into the box - on the floor.

Biggest error was the Collins yellow. Apart from that she was well above average. As for the pen a clever defender would have realised that with jw in goal best option after the schoolboy error was to marshall the rebound We made our own bed

Hoping the Jan Window will see an end to Warne’s fascination with Hourihane and Collins. No leadership from them, and performances are mediocre at least. One good game in five isn’tt good enough especially when Bird plays well below his talent with too many lacklustre performances.. Warne has to be brave and start dropping the big name non-performers.

The player is running into the box with the ball, Ward is behind him and there's a challenge which brings their player down. It couldn't be anything but a penalty.
