That’s what a team is for isn’t it. I don’t think Chris does everything within the business.

I wouldn’t question how a 34 year old multi millionaire spends his time.

If you were an investor in slync.io, wouldn’t you be concerned about the amount of time your CEO is spending buying English football clubs ?

I’m not so sure. If funding for the stadium has been secured, which I think @MackworthRamIsGod mentioned last week, then I suspect an agreement in principal to buy it is in place and just needs to be signed. Maybe that in turn is conditional on the outcome of the EFL meeting today? EFL approve CK and his plan, then the city council sign the agreement in principal knowing they have a guaranteed source of income, then CK signs the SPA. If the city council complete the purchase too soon and then CK isn’t approved, they have a risk as they have no income and no view on timescale for it so incur additional cost. Who knows?

Kirchner has given no indication at all he want's to buy the stadium. It's only the council involvement that brought him back and the fact they may own it.
What a load of drivel.

Seems quite possible the stadium won’t be sorted by Friday so that is a major outstanding condition in his ‘spa’. I’d think if cheques are needed before the condition is satisfied he will still write them but they will be loans to the administrators

Kirchner must already be writing cheques, he has already allowed Rooney to find next years cheer leaders.

The above is not correct, Mel hasn't walked away with HMRC money, the club simply couldn't pay it as he stopped vank rolling. My understanding is and deal for the stadium is the same any monies paid will simply go to service MSD debts.
Mels gets nothing, which is what he deserves. Unfortunately owners Limited Companies cannot be forced to pay debts back when they go into admin!

Yes, he did come across well. Don’t you think it’s better than the confusing garbled misinformation we get from newspaper hacks?
At least we know it’s actually his words, as long as it doesn’t descend into Fawaz territory.

It’s a shame CK won’t deal with MM because it rules out one of the most obvious options, ie a lease from MM to DCFC with some sort of option down the line.
But whatever the reason may be, CK is entitled to say that his investment is conditional on MM not being involved going forward so Q just need to work around it.
thought CK came across very well on Amanda Solloway’s session- was really encouraging. Just wish he’d do a little less twittering

Agree but why was the gibbo ‘accord’ last minute, why is the stadium deal last minute?
I think it’s CK not Q though who is doing the accepting

From my understanding of the meeting he’s signing an agreement to buy the club this week after (hopefully) getting the OK from the EFL to pass over the league membership to his company, then it will take until the end of may/early June to bring us out of administration, that being conditional on the change of ownership of the stadium by then.

This is the most promising thing I’ve heard so far. Despite how well CK has been speaking, I had a doubt in my mind as to whether he could back it up and fund the club moving forward… well according to Steve Mc, he’s pretty much funding all the nice to haves that the admins don’t want to fund already. Why would CK do that if he wasn’t confident of finalising the deal and moving forward?
Up the Rams.

If this is right I’d guess it means SPA signed within 7 - 10 days. But that’s not takeover done - it still leaves the stadium to be sorted which could take longer. I would guess we have no proof of next season’s funds until the stadium condition is satisfied.

I’d say this is his way of putting pressure on Q, MM and the City and even EFL. If so it seems smart

I’d thought the stadium purchase price is 20m less what MM is willing to tip in. Don’t think it’s driven by the 25%/35% requirement at all

There’s a strong chance CK will take over and that Rooney stays. Rooney likely to assemble a strong squad I reckon with a good mix of youth and experience

Interesting that CK specified that there will be one condition only in his SPA, a condition relating to the stadium.
Slightly worrying is the enmity between MM and Rooney. There is a danger MM will not want to play ball with a bid which (as he sees it) is backed by Rooney and this might explain CK’s frustration with MM after his Dec offer was refused.
There are two solutions. The first is that the City puts a deal together. But local public bodies are not designed for this sort of thing and they find it difficult and move slowly. I hope they play their cards well and that Q and Team Derby are all over this
If the ‘City solution’ stalls, then Q needs the courage to tell MM that they and MSD will put the stadium owning company into administration and will grant a stadium lease to the club on terms that work for CK.
Ultimately this should get fixed. But delay could result in CK losing patience and so the City need to be moving forward with this now. And Q needs to be less passive that they have been to date. They need to stop trying to be nice to everyone

Q is working with MSD who hold the charge over the stadium - MSD can force a filing at 202. It’s Q’s job to sell the club. It’s also Q’s job to decide whether directors and former directors should be singled out for criticism. They have several levers and they need to use them to force the pace. We’ve not seen signs to date that they are doing this. (One worry obviously is that they have done a ‘deal’ with MM that allows him his 20 m deposit back. If they’ve done that there needs to be compromise, given what is currently possible , and the City’s involvement may be vital)
the City have levers too - they have a massive megaphone and have begun to use it to castigate MM in the public eye. This puts pressure on him. The City needs also need to continue to drive a hard line to get this done quickly.
I think it’ll get done. But Q need to stop fannying around and telling us how nice everyone is. Hopefully they are pushing all this forward below the surface
