    Happy days.
Obviously the regulation shake up is a bit of an unknow, but it's surely a case of which out of Max/RBR and LH/Merc come out the box with an edge rather than either being hilariously far back (although, i would be highly amused if red bull completely spanner their new car and it's an utter dog)
As there's not going to be much F1 until pre season testing comes around, I've been quite enjoying the "the movie of the race" long highlights from the WEC, makes endurence racing a bit more managable when it's been condensed into a 1hr ish package.

I agree with you about Bottas a backward step if Hamilton retires, I don't think Horner would allow Gasly to go to Mercedes Wouldn't it be great if Alonso was in a Mercedes? I really believe he could win a 3rd championship with them. But I'm really hoping Hamilton does race for 2022, I still believe that him and Verstappen are far superior to anyone else on the grid at present and to see them race again next year would be good for F1. One thing the FIA need to do now is sack Massi because he is incompetent.

I'd be sad if Hamilton does retire like this. I'd also be sad if they bring back Bottas - yes Bottas can be quick but he's really not got that champion mentality. I know it's a logical and sensible move for Merc and probably "actually do-able" but unless they are really sure about Russell it's effectivly conceeding the 2022 title to Max/Red Bull already.
If Lewis does retire, my take would be to do everything to get Gasly signed up. Probably the best "not in a top car yet" driver and after being passed over for the second red bull seat two years in a row, miight be disillusioned enough to go. If that doesn't work, get on the phone to Fernando and say "So Fred, that 3rd title still something you're into?"
Ocon and Lando are probably too hard toget with both being long term hopes for their teams. Gasly wouldn't be easy either, but as with Danny Ric, feeling the cold side of Horner might just make him do it.
I just can't really get behind Bottas.

There are stories going round on MSN.COM that Hamilton looking to retire and Mercedes are maybe going to recall Bottas as there driver if he does. No smoke without fire.

Didn’t the BAWT minutes say February as well?
It is very frustrating but I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as changing the goal posts exactly. They were never hard and fast deadlines but rather ambitious expectations that have proved to be over ambitious as the process is worked through and negotiations progress. I’m not sure if we’d be feeling any better now if they’d under promised and over delivered by initially suggesting end of Feb but actually completing early Feb.

Changing the subject of Boro/Wycombe/QPR etc it was reported on East Midlands Today tonight that it could be February before new owners are sorted out. I just feel they keep changing the goal posts, first it was December then January and now February I find it all frustrating.

Why in god's name should we negotiate/give compensation to Boro and Wycombe? These parasites make me really angry it's not our fault that Boro couldn't get into the play-off's because they had a crap manager in Pulis and the same with bloody Wycombe they deserved to be relegated.

It's going to be Billy Davies isn't it.
Gadsby and Co to take over, Rooney to get the boot and Billy Davies will arrive on the number 72 bus from Galsgeew.
And my guess for player will be Steve Howard.

    Good article in Athletic today.

Reading between the lines CK seems to be preferred bidder before Xmas but after that a long way to go .
Usually takes a month after preferred bidder announced to complete .
Verbal agreement over ground with MM and MSD but says not certain.
HMRC talks positive but no agreement until preferred bidder
Preferred bidder will have to get through EFL owners test and negotiate with Boro and Wycombe successfully to avoid going to court
Good news but loads to do yet

I was going to post the obvious & say why couldn't one or two of the interested parties maybe work alongside each other. Read on newsnow that Gadsby & Appleby are considering this. The financial state of the club is complex & maybe each consortia can address a particular situation.
As for Mr Kirchner, I thought his initial statements OTT, but he has been more restrained. I feel a little sorry for him, he comes across as enthusiastic, almost like a child, wanting his own football team but instead he's being asked to buy a basket-case instead.
One last point which may not be relevant to our present situation. We are £68m in debt, the figure quoted, and then you flick through the BBC gossip column, to find that one of the elite are bidding that amount for a player. You could argue the same amounts Mel Morris wasted could keep many a fellow Championship/lower league side in existence for decades.
I hope we learn from this situation that it isn't worth mortgaging the club in an attempt to join - quite probably -  the most ridiculous and irresponsible league in the world.

I think these tests would have been a lot closer if we could catch- a lot of the drops have been to Warner Labuchagne as well which compounds the issue
Im expecting a turnaround from England. Might as well dream or why bother at all
