Following last weeks 3-4 win at Villa Park in the first leg, Raich Carter scores for The Rams to secure a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa in this FA Cup Quarter Final second leg, in front of 32,000 at The BBG.
A (One Leg) Semi Final against Birmingham City at Hillsborough, now awaits The Rams, looking to win this competition for the first time, having previously been runners up three times.

I had just turned 4, can remember it so clearly....ok, maybe not this time ?

If only he had of been fit for the semi final, who knows....

wow I was there for the Newcastle game. Nine year old however was getting crushed at the Ossie end had to be taken out of the crowd before the start of the game to go to the medical room it was scary. Missed the whole game however one of my favourite football goals ever scored was the 4th goal by George simplicity but brilliant (take a look on you tube) the Hector back flip and then will always remember the detail of the goal right down to George taking a little touch just before he shoots to set the finish up and then he sinks to his knees and realises the rams are in the semi-finals.

How Bruce’s free kick didn’t break the net I will never know...

Was playing in a chess tournament that day, kept getting up from the table and checking the scores on my radio....the Rams were more important than the chess game ?

Thought this was the game I missed because of massive traffic problems on the A38, but after research it was actually the game the following October where Shinnie scored an injury time wonder goal.

Damn!  Missed it!

In front of 76,588, which remains their attendance record to this day... 75 years later!  (Maybe they had high hopes of winning T'Cup that year?)
Each goal scored by legends still oft remembered today... Sammy Crooks, Raich Carter, and 2 for Peter Doherty.
Just a home draw next week in the second leg, and... whisper it... we'll be in the semi final!

4 March 2001. I don’t know what game was on but I spent the afternoon before missing the rams beat spurs at home as I waited patiently for the birth of my one and only son at Derby hospital. 
also watched re runs of Barca v Madrid, ant and Dec and the Australian grand prix live....It was a long long day..

Maybe but I have found that the team listing is more often provided for Derby than it is for other teams.

Is that the game where we had a perfectly good goal disallowed too?

I was at that game.  I think we thumped them 4-0 in the home game.

Great game this one! Weirdly I remember that Frank Lebouf always seemed to stand out one way or another in games against us for Chelsea whether it was a red card, a goal or an own goal. Just always seemed heavily involved in some manner ?
