  1. I’d question if any Derby fan is actually human if they didn’t get emotional at least once yesterday. We nearly lost it all. Everyone has their ritual, whether it’s going with lifelong friends and getting on the beers, travelling from afar to visit home, seeing family they may otherwise rarely see… would be all gone There were kids that pitch who were probably too young to remember the Villa play off loss, let alone the QPR one, they wouldn’t have seen a single moment of success watching us. I’m 33 and don’t remember promotion in the 90s, all I have is 07. Suppose we could support Man City? Nah, never, that’s not football. That’s not belonging. That’s not family. There’s a lot of pain in the recent past, and yesterday was a stark reminder of what may never have been again.
  2. Don’t think any of them had extensions to “trigger”. Dont think we had the capability of putting them in our contracts at the time. What we did do with Fornah, Wilson and Washington is put a clause in for some kind of fee upon promotion with the up front fee being free. Cashin and NML just signed new extensions. Nelson has another year anyway.
  3. Not a fan of his commentary at all, but can’t deny he really encapsulated the emotion.

Competition in which you’re trying to win. If that was the most effective way to win a game of snooker, then yeah. Again, it’s sport, you go to support someone winning.

If you want Sports Entertainment I think that’s what WWE calls itself.

100%, we went into the season without our desired striking options. The one he did get was Washington... who's been injured (there's a theme of mainly older players getting injured here). He's been polishing a turd for much of the season. We can argue about who's fault that ultimately is, but it's all with the cloud of restrictions over it so we will never really know. He tried to get his Ebou with Fornah but it turned out he wasn't exactly that type of player - whether that was poor scouting or not, could be another question. Personally, think Fornah does have things to offer and could've been used more but he's another one who's been injured in the background.
  7. 1 was a whopping dive. 2 is one of those where you have seen it given, but I don't believe it should be. He's like a yard away from it. As for the comparison with Coventry yesterday, there was a greater distance. The third one is the real one I'd be annoyed about.

Warne has pretty much been trying to find Ebou Adams since the start of the season. Then he did, and not long after his other best midfielder in Max Bird got injured. Korey Smith was also injured at this time. His only fault was sticking with Hourihane for so long even when there were other options.
  9. Really pleased for them. I hope they continue moving from strength to strength.
  10. I think it's the ownership/investment into the facility that could renegotiate with Gateshead, not the other way round.

That wasn't the argument being made. The argument is that you pay to watch entertainment. You don't, you pay to watch competitive sport with no guarantees beyond that.

People who pay money just for entrainment should try the cinema or theatre, sport isn't for them.
  13. Said it in the other thread, but they have - according to them. Issue being is if the council sell it, the new owners are free to renegotiate.
  14. Gateshead council have said that they have the 10 year lease, but I think the problem is that they're essentially trying to sell it or get investors, at which point, whoever those individuals who put the money in are, are free to renegotiate the deal.

Where's our Ipswich budget? There's a reason they've gone from this league straight to challenging for the Premier League.
  16. Worked in Burton for over a decade, I've met 2 fans.
  17. Reminder that this was Forest’s opinion of VAR after their promotion…
  18. the VAR official? Famous Forest result gifter, Stuart Atwell. You actually couldn’t make this up.
  19. Just don’t understand the point in playing the season if this is what the outcome is.
  20. Bizarre situation unfolding at Gateshead who were due to start the playoffs this week… They have not met the ground criteria for entry to the EFL. To be more precise, the ground security portion where they need at least a 10 year lease. Therefore, they have effectively been thrown out of the play offs and won’t compete in them. Gateshead rapidly trying to fight it.
  21. It is disgusting, there's so many alternatives to how they could fix this. Ultimately the only clubs this really hurts are the ones who need it in lower leagues and non-league. The worst thing about it, only the Premier League were consulted. Boycott it and the League Cup. Remove u21 sides from FLT, play them in the FA Cup if you're so scared of fatigue? Why are the replays removed in rounds way before the bigger teams enter the competition? Keep replays in rounds 3/4 and then stop them. Also, remove semis from Wembley. Stop going on pre-season and post-season tours abroad. I'm slowly starting to think football actually could be better if that Super League happened.
  22. If Ebou leave me now, you'll take away the biggest part of me... Baby, please don't go.
  23. That's correct. Only slight caveat is in your second scenario is that Posh need to win their other game for it to go into last day like that.
