Deej reacted to Mick Brolly in Jozwiak
Giving a free kick away on the halfway line does not contribute to the goal we have eleven men behind the ball when it's taken and as a team we should be able to defend the situation properly.

Deej reacted to Rich84 in Louie Sibley
I suspect @Dimmulike a lot of us believe Sibley should be played centrally, yet rarely if ever gets given the opportunity, not saying he can't play in one of the wider positions, just that with his movement, control and willingness to make the runs around the CF he is better deployed centrally.
Personally I think Lawrence is better on the left also, so it should be a no brainer, but WR32 doesn't see it that way.

I’d replace Tom Lawrence with Jennifer Lawrence. Unlikely to be any major change in performance levels, or results, but shirt swapping at full time would cheer me up.

Deej reacted to Van der MoodHoover in Wheeler Dealer
I'd ship out Byrne and Lawrence. I think we have alternatives that can be better.
I'd bring in Carroll and a cf from the lower leagues. Don't have a name.
Basically have an experienced spine with the kids developing around them.

Each game we keep hoping for an improvement but it never seems to come. Just disappointment. Agreed, it's not only Rooney's fault but there must be a point in time when the line in the sand is crossed?
Ten games has to be the very maximum but by then it might be too late. It could be beyond repair.
Personally, I was disappointed when the club dispensed with Nigel Clough. The progress was steady but it seemed to be small, certain steps in the right direction.
I haven't studied the statistics but it may well have been the wrong decision to bring Wayne Rooney to the club in the first place. It seems to have been a downward spiral since he arrived.

Chris Martin wasn't here last season. He started the 2020-21 season with exactly the same players Rooney had minus the FIVE loan signings. Take one of those loan signings out (Lee Gregory) and Rooney's record now stands at Played 12 Won 0 Draw 2 Lose 10. Two points from a possible 36.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Phillip Cocu record more points at the beginning of last season compared to Wayne Rooney's end-of-season record? Rooney had exactly the same players + Mengi, Edmundson, Roberts and Baningime.

Cocu got a pretty average Derby team to tenth during his first season in charge despite everything that went against him. Sibley, Bird and Knight all performed far better under him.
His transfer targets such as Dursun, Panzo and Moore had brilliant seasons last year.
Cocu was a slow burner. But he improved players and could spot potential transfer targets to move us forward. His time at PSV proved with the right pieces in place, he could succeed.
But he was undermined by Wayne Rooney's arrival while restricted from making any signings due to the circumstances caused by Mel Morris. Bizarre you would give up on him after the Charlton away game, which was about 10 game into his first season, working with an average squad. What were you expecting? Bielsa-ball?
There were signs after that we were on the right track. Like the back-to-back wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn, the latter a crushing 3-0 win where Wayne Rooney didn't even play.
Post lockdown, we still had momentum and Louie Sibley was being talked about as a potential superstar. But by that point, Rooney's fitness was so dire we were starting games with ten players.
Cocu's job come the second season was impossible. We were obliged to play Rooney who was awful, while we started the season without a recognised striker due to an embargo and the Martin fiasco.
The subsequent improvement in form after Cocu's exit was down to Rooney retiring and Krystian Bielik coming back. Not only were we playing with 11 men again, but we had arguably the best midfielder in the league absolutely running it for us.

Not sure that Wassall is the answer, but he probably couldn't do any worse. It's patently obvious that the manager and coaching staff are not up to it, but as mentioned in other posts, the club can't afford to sack Rooney, and he seems intent on staying at the club to the bitter end. What a miserable situation the club has been dragged into.

Yes I know….didn’t end that way though. Snapshot the league table now ?

Deej reacted to Jimbo Ram in Please sack them NOW
Rubbish, how many points have we got after 2 games ?
-
Deej reacted to Jimbo Ram in Please sack them NOW
We were 2 points off safety with 35 games to go. Finished above Wendies because of their points deduction. Coventry, Luton, Brum and Udders pulled away from us. We haven’t been top of the League this season. What an achievement ?

Deej reacted to i-Ram in Please sack them NOW
Lampard didn’t cost us? Can you tell me how much we got for selling Waghorn, Marriott, Malone and Jozefzoon. Can you tell me how much we spent on loan fees and wages for one year developing Mount, Tomori and Wilson for Chelsea and Liverpool blocking pathways for our own youngsters. Not that it was all his fault as someone was signing the cheques (not that Mel accepts any blame for his largesse).

Not when judging a Manager it isn’t. If we were to not win in another 2 games that’s 1 win in 20. For all other teams he would be toast…..

Are you disputing that we have won 1 league game in 18?

Oh.. You got me.
No, they were in the third tier. But you comparing them to Norwich playing Liverpool works well.
-
Deej reacted to Mostyn6 in Please sack them NOW
Doesn’t matter. We had players like Baird, Bennett, Marriott, Ince, even Duane bloody Holmes playing well under previous managers! We kid ourselves that these players are now rubbish but our old gaffers got players playing 7/10+, when was the last time half the team played better than even 5/10??
you’ve triggered me now! ? I’m not even one of those calling for him to be sacked! But I’m not having all the excuses. He’s performed very very very poorly, the only thing I’m giving him a pass on is he’s definitely been unable to build his own team. I doubt he’d have signed any of the freebies if given like-for-like resources of last few managers.

Yesterday’s first half was abysmal. Tapping it to Roos and a passing move with 3 defenders ending back with our keeper. I see nothing in terms of progression, same old story. Let’s give him 10 games and then if there is no change get rid. More than fair.

@Curtainsim not arguing one way or the other, but I’d like you to HONESTLY answer this question, without talking in riddles:-
in your opinion, has Rooney EVER got the best out of any single Derby player?
-
Deej reacted to Chester40 in Please sack them NOW
What are you seeing about results that is different?
I still don't see what you are arguing you are seeing is happening that is different...other than he has more excuses now than last season.

Deej reacted to Rev in Please sack them NOW
It baffles me that in all those years since he left Forest, no one has employed him, despite a pretty decent record overall.
You'd think someone would have taken a punt, even from desperation.
-
Deej reacted to Tamworthram in Please sack them NOW
I know they wouldn’t yet but you are implying Rooney is more loyal than Lampard and I’m suggesting the only reason for this is because Rooney hasn’t had such an offer not because he is more loyal.

Neither are real things in football though.
They either have a better place to go to or they don't.
Applies to lampard,Rooney,Mac anyone.
