    “This is the most complex, high-stakes football transaction that we have advised on, with the separation of the ownership of Pride Park from the club one of a number of issues to navigate in structuring the deal” they say having dealt with 26 football club deals in the last 20 years. Those still wanting to give Quantuma a kicking should take note that Morris left one hell of a mess for them to resolve. 8/9 months to resolve would be pretty quick too for a football club administration to be concluded.

    Good post, Roymac.
    I'm surprised there haven't been more comments on this from all those posters who assume CK is a chancer who doesn't know what he's doing, or, who expected nothing could happen without him being in Derby personally.
    I am encouraged by the fact he is hiring relevant expertise and am confident he will continue to do this in running the club, rather than making all the decisions himself. We all know what occurs when that happens!

    We did indeed. So long to nod off though. Was so excited about reading the posts when people first signed on this morning was really surprised by all the negativity

    The fact that CK is now going to be paying the bills, on top of the amount of cash he has already laid out just to get this far, tells me that we are a lot further forward.

    Of course we are, this agreement clearly demonstrates that all parties want to get this deal over line. The ground was always going to be an issue simply because it’s outside of the clubs control and is not part of the package on offer by the administrators. The more parties involved in a deal the greater the complexity.
    Hopefully we are now close to being able to get back to talking about football and forgetting all about leases, amortisation, transfer bans, points deductions etc. I, for one, am just looking forward to focusing on the “on the pitch” activities ????

    Yes, of course. Contracts have been exchanged, the deal has been done - That would not have happened it anyone involved thought the stadium purchase/lease would not go through.

    And the context for those not on Twitter.  And such support from Mr Ratcliffe - why are our so-called fans laying into him like this when he's the one man here to give our club a future.  If you're on here, take a step back please, count to 10 and let things play out.  You've waited 2 years FFS, just one more week hopefully then we move on.

    Well my morning glory has extended into the afternoon (but that may be because I have got my pills mixed up again).
    Some really good news in the last 12 hours but reading some posts on here you might think differently.  Whether CK has the wherewithal to achieve great things for our Club in the future is anyone’s guess, but to exchange contracts is a huge step and not to be derided or undermined. Yes, let’s not get carried away, but why so many doomsayers want to continue to pick everything apart is beyond me. CK HAS STOPPED THE DOOMSDAY CLOCK. He has shown his commitment. It is now up to Morris/MSD to finalise the stadium sale to some third party, who is supportive of CK’s proposals. Well done CK. I hope this works out for you and us. Up the Rams!

    It’s a shame but that’s exactly the reason why I’ve avoided Radio Derby this morning.  Throughout this process Ed Dawes has tried to whip up hysteria.  The last match was a classic example.  Before the game He reports Mel’s in hiding refusing to talk to anyone.  Afterwards, apparently not!!  Based on no fact whatsoever.
    Anyway, today is a great day.  Like others have said, feels like a weight has been lifted.  Up the Rams ?!!

    For God's sake all you doom and gloom merchants and know alls give it a break, surley CK is not clueless and knows that the stadium will not be an issue or he would have walked away, not willingly take over the running of Derby County and paying the bills.
    Smile and be happy, think positive we have a great owner who loves sport and we also have a great manager who loves the club, it takes more muscles to frown than too smile, happy days are here again!!!

    I see the doom-mongers are still scuttling around. The first bit of confirmed progress we've had in months yet they just can't resist putting in their pessimistic comments - you do have to wonder if everything else in their lives is surrounded in negativity.
    Most fans who have endured the last couple of years will probably agree that all is not now cut and dried but let's enjoy the fact that at last there is some light at the end of this dark tunnel and it doesn't automatically mean there's a train coming full pelt towards us.
    Today is a good day, we've not had many of them recently so for pity sake enjoy it!

    The Club already has a lease in place to rent the stadium. Worst case pay a year rent to Mel. Get breathing space to sort it. Why would that scenario be such a disaster.

    Surely people are seeing this the wrong way round?
    It's not about us feeling reassured, it's about Chris Kirchner feeling reassured enough that the ground purchase will happen, that has persuaded him to sign up.
    He is the one taking all the risks.
    We all said that you can't buy a stadium in a few days - heck it's taking months to get a simple house purchase through at the moment - but he must know the money and motivation is there to get the deal completed.

    He wouldn’t have exchanged if stadium was going to be a problem.
    He is funding club from next week .
    No points deduction next season is massive.
    Season ticket will go on sale soon

    I know! I put the breakfast show on for the first time in years to hear about the good news ?
    The stadium deal was never going to complete without contracts being exchanged for the club, as the buyer needs to know that they have a sitting tenant and they're not left owning a white elephant!
    The price of the stadium may well have been agreed given CK and Quantuma have now exchanged contracts.
    Exchange contacts on club ->
    Exchange contacts on stadium ->
    Complete on club purchase ->
    Complete on stadium purchase.
