Sometimes if you add an older named driver it can lower your premiums .Just make it clear you are the main driver.

??, Its about 200 quid more without a blackbox on a Golf R, I guess it would definitely be worth it ?

In that case, take whichever is the cheapest without the Black box!
It'd be like buying Marriott, then never using him otherwise.

Golf R is around 1200 with a blackbox for a year, I don’t mind having a blackbox again to be honest!
    GTI is about 1000
    S3 - 1300ish
    M140i - 1700?
I’m not buying finance no, It’s a long complicated story but to narrow it down I’m in need of a new car and decided instead of paying small money on one where i’ll probably want a new one in a couple years time, use some inheritance money I have now, and then pay back into my savings pot monthly if that makes sense?
I’ll get about 4.5k for my ibiza so that helps too!

Let's have the insurance prices!  Eye watering I bet.
Haven't had any of the above, but my last car was a  3Dr 16 plate Cupra 290 with the DSG box, so a similar driving experience to the GTI, but more in line with the Audi and Golf r in power.
If the GTI is anything like the Seat, I found the traction control a real pain in the arse, far too willing to interrupt a quick get away from the lights, which doesn't happen in the 4wd Golf R and S3.
Your list are all fairly recent cars, if you're buying on finance, or renting as I think of it, is there much difference in monthly payments to a brand new model?

As we've been told that the German car industry will need us more than we'll need them. I'd hang on till Johnson gets his great deal done with the EU. You might be able to afford a brand new shiny car instead of a used second-hand one.

No worries ,Audi do make a nice interior it's a nice first world problem to have. With regard to the insurance if you can afford it and you want it life's too short not to.
Having said that you are asking a man who has spent far too much on cars.

All good cars ,the odd one out from a drivers perspective is the BMW as it's rear wheel drive. I love RWD  but a front /four wheel drive car is inherently safer for the less experienced driver IMO .
Golf R is a cracking car ,the Audi S3 is the same platform as the Golfs but perceived as a "better badge" in reality they don't drive as well from an enthusiasts point of view.
For me it's a toss up between the BMW and Golf R ,enjoy the decision making .

Yeah, if Saunders goes for Canelo, I’ve read it might mean a vacant title shot for Parker as he’s now mandatory challenger.

How do you get over the loss of your dog?
Had to put my best friend, my partner in crime of 12 years to sleep on Monday.
    Struggling to cope.

How embarrassing... I just asked the guy in Boots what gets rid of Coronavirus.
He looked at me and mumbled “ammonia cleaner”
'Wow, so sorry I thought you worked here'... ..

    Translation:
For the very first time, I have just received a free donation from one of my offspring, namely my son, Josh, who has kindly donated his unwanted Nike trainers to me, as I was about to pummel the wasteful sod for disposing of perfectly good (and expensive) trainers in the bin.
Now being the proud owner of such youthful and trendy apparel, I am also about to embark on using urban-speak as an everyday language...particularly when excited.
In this instance, I offer the word Jinger".  A word that fuses the more recognised words "jeans", and "finger(s)", although it goes without saying that I wish to add nothing further to the origin of this word, this being a family forum, and all.

    You're welcome.

My sister’s got a border terrier Squid, right little characters, sorry for your loss mate, the only negative in a lifetime of positives. He’ll always be in your thoughts, I dreamt about Remy my Old English Sheepdog about a fortnight ago, we lost him about 20 years ago. It was a nice dream, we were big buddies.
I tell myself I’ll meet up with all my dogs when I kick it, I know I’m kidding myself really but it brings me comfort when I’m grieving the loss of a much loved pal.
All the best at a lousy time mate. ?
