Are you talking about Nelson being relegated with Blackpool? If so, he only joined them in the January of that season by which time they were already bottom but one in the league. So, I’m not sure how much of Blackpool’s relegation you can attribute to him.

The club are not asking... they are telling... don't do it.
The law says... don't do it.
"The best way to gain promotion is by the Play-Offs" is oft-written... do they invade the pitch at Wembley?
Hysterically approaching a player who has yet to make himself safe by dashing down the tunnel, just to "Plant a big fat kiss" could (understandably) be misconstrued as a potential attack/assault.  Remember, there will be confusion, concern, and uncertainty from some quarters.
All it takes... literally... is one jubilant fan being tripped/nudged/held back by a viz'd up official whose sole job/instruction is to attempt to fend off a pitch invasion for the mood to change.  Just one defensive/evasive swing of the arm can be caught on the numerous cameras, and have you stood in the dock before you can say "I wish I'd listened to Uncle Mucker"!

Invading the pitch would spoil the celebrations of many fans sat above ground level access to the pitch. Why can’t people wait and let the players /staff do their lap of honour so everyone can see, join in and applaud the efforts made during the season.

to my mind it is a selfish act to invade the pitch.

Here's a random suggestion. Just don't invade the pitch!!!! Should everything go our way on Saturday,  just enjoy it from the stands.

I don't disagree - but if we go up, it would be churlish to deny him the opportunity to manage the club in a higher league, because the alternative is always somebody who is either untried or someone who has failed elsewhere.
There are some on here who would be prepared - nay, willing - to sack him now (or after Saturday, irrespective of the result against Carlisle). The problem with that is threefold:
Compensation required to pay off Warne and the rest of his staff Compensation required to pay off the club whose current manager we subsequently poach The 'new' manager finding that his budget for the next transfer window is missing the amounts paid out due to 1. and 2. above.

Longer than he got - a lot longer.
The way he was sacked by Sam Rush was nothing short of disgusting, and still leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Clough had basically kept Derby afloat for about 4 years, balancing the books and operating on a shoestring budget (a string which grew shorter each year) thanks to the almost complete absence of any meaningful investment by GSE, and he left Derby in a far more secure position than when he first took over. The fact that Steve McClaren then took over the reins and took the team forward on the pitch only goes so far in justifying Clough's sacking - and hindsight being 20:20, it's equally arguable that the whole financial mess which culminated in Administration and subsequent relegation would never had happened if Clough had not had his legs sawn from under him following the 1:0 defeat at the City Ground.

So, from what you're saying there, is that every player who plays for a relegated club, isn't good enough for that division?
Nelson only signed for Blackpool in the January window, when they were already in the bottom 3.

No - Nelson didn’t personally get relegated- his team did. One man cannot save a team.

In fairness, it appears you're asking the wrong person, in @Ilkestonian.
This should be aimed at those who have openly aired their intentions (on here) to invade the pitch at full time.
I've made my views clear.  But that's not to say I believe a pitch invasion will in itself lead to a points deduction, as I don't imagine it will for one moment.
My anti-invasion opinions are based on the fact that:
A/  The invaders will be going against the club's wishes, plans, and publicly announced statements, along with the laws of the land.
B/  The potential of those left in the stands missing the advertised "Lap of honour", due to it being cancelled should the pitch not be cleared in an appropriate timescale (There's only so much one man with a megaphone can achieve!).
C/  The potential for just ONE of the assumed thousands on the pitch doing something SO STUPID, that that in itself "COULD" lead to action being taken against the club, be that a fine, points deduction, or any other sanction the EFL has in their power.
Your question is a fair one.  It was just a poor aim.  👍🐏

I don't think there's any chance of a points deduction for a pitch invasion after the final whistle has gone bearing in mind that Reading only got a suspended three point deduction after their fans invaded the pitch and caused the match to be abandoned.
I still hope we don't have a pitch invasion at the end of the match though.

I don’t know where you’ve been reading that but I suspect there is zero chance of a points deduction. It happens all the time when a team wins something or gets promoted. It’s already happened at least twice this season (Pompey and Wrexham) and I’ve not see any mention of such a sanction.
Wherever you read it, stop reading there.
I also don’t think the club should embrace a pitch invasion. They’ll probably expect it’s going to happen IF we seal promotion but they shouldn’t be encouraging it. Accept that some will run on the pitch but hope/aim to get them to return to stands for the lap of appreciation to take place. I’m not sure how the elderly and unsteady person on the row in front of me would be partying on the pitch. 😀

I can't speak for other people (I leave that to people like you who have a crystal ball or some deeper insight that I'm just not wise enough or clever enough to possess) - but I get behind the club from top to bottom.
My philosophy with respect to the manager of Derby County is that I will support them until the day that they no longer hold that position. I started watching The Rams regularly 58 years ago when we moved back into the area (the love affair was, by and large, from afar before then). Tim Ward was manager at the time, so he had my support. I didn't call for his head when we finished 17th in the old Second Division, and neither did I call for Brian Clough's head the following year when we finished 18th. I just carried on supporting the club.
You would have been yelling for Clough's head though - because Clough was a Fourth Division manager, and you would have not deemed him good enough for a Second Division side. Now before you start some sort of mindless prattle about comparing Warne with Brian Clough (or even Nigel), I'm not. I'm just saying that, sometimes, a particular manager in a particular club at a certain time can be a good fit - or a bad one.
Coming back to the point I highlighted, it seems to me that people are either on board with Paul Warne or they're not, and it doesn't matter what he achieves this season or in any subsequent time that he may be at the club - the doubters/haters will still be doubters/haters, and the reason for that is simple - some people do not have the capability to ever admit in public that they were wrong, no matter how much evidence mounts up one way or the other.
