Nice way of putting it, but the checks are only as good as the cheques at the end of the day.
Q, the EFL and anyone else (Stretford/Cook will surely have seen all this too) can only go on what the bank accounts say, if the money's there, the money's there. What else can they do?

I just wonder if MA is the issue, MM can sell PP to whoever he wishes and that includes MA, who could stall CK's takeover then steps in at the 11th hour and gets the club on the cheap. It doesn't have to be revealed who the new owner is and we may never find out. I don't think CK will be high on MM's list to get the club out of administration after his comments regarding MM. DIdn't someone post earlier that MA had been in contact with the EFL.

Reckon Weds is still the big day that we learn stuff. Either completion or back to square 1.
Assume it fails for a mo'. Then why?
If CK had the money and everything ready to go, but MM and MA conspire to remove the stadium from the deal, effectively ending it; thus leading to the absolute evisceration that our club will need to suffer before it is 'ready' for MAs offer, then if I see or hear from MM again it'll be too soon.
If CK is a tyre kicker who was hoping for some extra investment to close this, then he is a proper numpty for putting us through this just for ... well I dont know what he gains from this. The publicity and raised profile wont be positive. Next stop Appleby, but L1 campaign will be a slog not to go down into L2, as we have no time and no players by the time its sorted.
Neither of these are attractive to me, let's hope CK is who we hope he is, and that MM does the right thing.

He may well exchanged contracts but the ownership of the ground is out of his hands, can't see what other hold up there could be if he is that far down the line owning the club.

And then we find out MA has bought the ground to spite CK as he wouldn't enter into a joint buyout.

In the business plan the EFL can force a ceiling on the amount we can offer in a new contract. The business plan would override the regulations appertaining to L1 clubs, there is no way the EFL will allow us to offer a contract of £50K per week whilst we are under the business plan as they will want to make sure we comply with the plan by not overspending.

If Morris had decided to not fund the club anymore that is one thing, he could have put the club into administration far earlier. For him to use the taxpayer as a means of funding it instead does not reflect well on him IMO.
