Waghorny got a reaction from jono in Derby v Shrewsbury Town - Match Day Thread
Think we should be looking at a 4 at the back for home games, 5 at the back for away games...
Would change the team slightly to:
Vickers
Nyambe - Nelson - Cashin - Sibley
Bird - Adams - Hourihane
Barks - Collins - Wilson
Harsh on Bradley, Ward (and assuming NML is injured),
Adams breathed new life into the team v Charlton, and I really hope he kicks on allowing Hourihane & Bird to free roam.

Waghorny got a reaction from Ellafella in Charlton Athletic v Derby County: Ratings
ATG
31Vickers - 7 - nothing wrong
35Nelson - 7.5 - solid as a rock
5Bradley - 8 - just edges it over the other 2 at the back, looked like the player we thought we'd signed
6Cashin - 7.5 - solid as a rock
23Ward - 7 - looks like the academy games have helped him get back to confidence,
24Nyambe - 6 - not much to do, saw it out
32Adams - 8.5 - he's what we've (and me) have been crying out for, a proper defensive midfielder
16Thompson - 6 - not much to do, put in a shift
8Bird 🦅 - 8.5 - just edges my MOM (can I give him an 8.6?...) back to his best now he's got a proper DM behind him
4Hourihane - 7 - better than he's been recently, but tiring
17Sibley - 7 - solid as a LB
20Elder - 7 - everything right
11Méndez-Laing - 7.5 - everything he touches turns to gold
7Barkhuizen - 6.5 - quiet performance, but nothing wrong
2Wilson - 6 - not much to do, saw it out
9Collins - 7 - worked hard as always, half chances, great link up

I would go back to 433, formation, if Mendez is fit i would go.
Vickers
Nyambe Nelson. Cashin. Elder
Adams
Bird. Hourihane
NML. Collins. CBT.
Subs. Wildsmith, Bradley, Ward,
Sibbo, Smith, Barks. And Tommo.

Waghorny reacted to Dimmu in Dwight Gayle - Signed until the end of the season
The amount of games can be misleading as as the playing time has been mostly some minutes. Better insight would be minutes played and goal contribution/game. PL = Premier league, CS = Championship
CS Stoke 23/24 - 14 Apps, 0 Goals 402 min
CS Stoke 22/23 - 37 Apps, 3 Goals 2409 min, 3 G + 5 A = contribution every 3.33 games
PL Newcastle 21/22 - 9 Apps, 0 Goals 106 min
PL Newcastle 20/21 - 20 Apps, 1 Goal 543 min, 1 G = contribution every 6 games
PL Newcastle 19/20 - 22 Apps, 4 Goals 847 min, 4 G + 2 A = contribution every 1.5 games
CS West Brom 18/19 - 41 Apps, 24 Goals 2845 min, 23 G + 8 A = contribution every game
A minute here or there and he's not worth it. But play him regularly, like Stoke did last season, and he will produce. I'm sure he'd destroy this league with Collo.

Think a fair few will now be suggesting Hourihane in over Bird, wouldn't be opposed to that:
Wildsmith
Nyambe - Nelson - Cashin - Sibley
Thompson - Hourihane - Fornah
Wilson - Collins - NML
Subs: Vickers, Ward, Bradley, Bird, Robinson, Barks, CBT

So frustrating reading some 'fans' opinions on Birds move,
The bloke stayed with us throughout everything whilst others jumped ship, he's moved on to a solid championship club, something that we can't offer at the moment,
Short memories on here, the unbeaten run of last season ended when he got injured - we're a worse team without him in it.

Remember when we were linked with Jordan Rhodes?
Some people on here did the exact same thing.
"No thanks" "Hes past it"
People pointed to his goal scoring record being poor.
He ended up at Blackpool and hes second top scorer with 15 goals in 19 games. I bet we all would take him now.
Now we are doing the same with Gayle.

This Bird has flown...
Exactly my thoughts. He stayed during relegation when he didn't have to, and has plodded through 1 1/2 seasons being utilised quite badly in what must be a frustrating tactic for him to play. He's not going to develop his game at Derby, let's face facts.
It speaks volumes that he's been constantly slated this season by some but he'll be at a Championship club next season on bigger wages, and with more chance of being spotted by a top division club.
