Oh dear. From despair heroes rise though.
With our small squad this one injury could scupper our promotion push in one fell swoop…

Collins who?
He's talentless. It's tough having to put up with such poor play.
After a good start to the PE era he has gone steadily downwards and often seems to offer little. Can’t fault his effort and attitude and PW seems to love him…

And that’s what I think has happened. He’s picked the same side (apart from an enforced change) that’s won the last couple, they’ll have surely been given the same instructions as normal, and for whatever reason just haven’t been able to execute as well as we’re used to seeing them. There was another poster saying if we played against higher quality opposition than Port Vale the other night we’d have been punished, I think we’ve seen a bit of that tonight. Not disgraced but not at our usual level, dust down and get ready for the next one. Might be worth mixing the team up a little for the weekend, give Dobbin a start in a mobile front 3 with Barkhuizen and NML if McGoldrick isn’t fit.
I agree with the lethargic bit. NML sort of showed that from the off with his gliding around getting caught in possession. We haven’t played our high pressing game at all , which I think would have troubled them.
Not bothered about losing to them - esp in the Cup like this-but just don’t feel that we’ve done as well as we could have. We have changed our style/ and it’s true that PW always said we wouldn’t do that .

Whilst we need another centre forward for emergencies that man Chris Martin is apparently being the subject of a lot of enquiries from league one clubs - if we can’t get anyone else he wouldn’t be a bad one to have in the run in if we lose McGoldrick and Collins - the chances are we are going to see him again even if it’s in a opposition squad
I think a loan to the end of the season would be ideal… he’s a very similar player to Didzy in many ways and would be ideal cover ..
But City looking to sell him …

It’s all too easy for them. It’s getting embarrassing.

Where the hell is Smith?? No one at the far post at all for their goal and almost another carbon copy just now…. Our back line is all over the shop.
I fear that fatigue - esp with the midfielders and Davies - from the weekend game may be playing a part here.

Good start by us but now inviting pressure. We have to close down on Butterworth.

Can’t recall what was stipulated….

Listening to the RD interview with Knight it seems likely to me that his decision as to whether he wants to stay with the Rams long- term depends on whether we get promoted this season. Yes, we have the one year option but even if that is taken up we would have to be looking to sell him well before the end of the next season if he’s indicated that he wants to look at a move.
To me, Knighty is one of our key players and would be a massive loss if he left.

Never realized that Notts Florist had the second largest pitch. Never seemed that way when at games.

Be nice but I won't be losing sleep. They barely had a sniff today. Not sure what more you're expecting from them really and much as we'd like to, we can't field the same 11 for 50 games plus. Curtis has looked rusty I conceded but he did ok today and Roberts too given how little football he's had. Korey is dependable without being as creative as Sibley but these are hardly poor replacements in this league IMO.
Not saying they did badly considering their lack of match time .
But for all their league position Bolton had very little cutting thrust in the last third.
Just that we are a better team with Cash and Sibs playing.

Really measured and controlled performance from the lads today. Frustrated Bolton throughout and barely gave them a sniff until the final kick of the game while being super clinical at the same time. The score line really flatters them, though I’ll not be losing any sleep over that. They were very much second best today.
Quick doff of the cap to yet another MOTM performance from Barks too with both assists. He’s been our MVP in at least the last 3 or 4 games now and looks in prime form. A win against Port Vale will keep us firmly in the hunt. Made up with that performance, but then I seem to be every week right now. Long may it last.

Good win. But do hope Cash and Sibs are back Tuesday.!

What a team goal that is. Was just about to suggest barks was looking leggy. Shows how much I know. Lovely finish too.
Barks always seems to score when he looks knackered

One of the biggest problems isn’t just that we can’t pay fees but that we can’t pay any agents’ fees.. what players don’t have agents wanting their cut ??
