You think HMRC wouldnt lose out big time. ? So you have 30k fans with nothing to do on Saturday afternoon They will certainly not spend the same amount of money as they would have if they had gone to a football match? See the other thread most people woudn't have a clue what to do they will just sit moaning on the internet . They wouldn't spend the same amount of money watch another team on Sky either.

I don't see any scenario in which HMRC gets anything more than zip in the event of liquidation.

Yes but a buyer will not want all the debt. That is why the club is in adminstration. No one wanted to buy the club with all of its debt. A deal has to be struck.

I agree, not a scooby doo, football means absolutely everything to the city of Derby and its people. It's in everyone's blood there. The first and last thing the majority of people talk about, always. Quite simply, not many places like it anywhere. Cloughie knew.

I don’t think that will happen either . Omicron seems not as big a deal as people were saying.

Not a phoenix club. Derby County FC. It's the same club and always will be . Even liquidation of the Company if it happened would not kill the club.

I will still be watching Derby County FC in League 1 next season

I do not think that even if liquidation were to happen, it would be that close. Bolton ran into financial problems in 2015 and that rumbled on for years before they were rescued.
HMRC will not try and liquidate the club.. they may try and hold out for a full payout even if that means paying on the never never. In reality, that could put off all potential buyers, so what happens then?
We have enough funds to see us to end of season. So even if the sale is not completed before then I don't think we will be liquidated before then.
SO even in that scenario there is then still time for something else to turn up , a mystery benefactor, or for HMRC to bite the bullet that £7m million or whatever is better than nothing.

I dont think he will. But I wouldn't do anything to risk peeing him off in this situation, because it's a club I grew up loving too.

Well one day later we are told they are hopeful of this happening before end of the month. Seems to be more slippage and as I say on Talk Sport it wa shopeful in October this would happen within thre eto four weeks.
There is definite slippage . Make of that what you will. EFL , maybe HMRC , Gibson etc being awkward etc. Things often take longer than you hope. They still say they are hopeful.

Who knows? Anyway unfortunately he cannot be forced to pay off our debts whether you, me or whoever would like him to.
so it’s no use Ed Dawes or Kieran Maguire or anybody saying he needs to do this . Unfortunately there is no legal power to enforce anything and anyway we don’t know whether he has £56 million in readies anyway.

When this thread started in last week in October hosking went on talk radio saying hoped to select preferred bidder in three to four weeks. So that has slipped by two to three weeks already.
meanwhile admin fees are clocking up. Blame Gibson, Efl . Usual suspects.

Preferred bidder was supposed to be selected in three to four weeks. That was about six weeks ago.
looks like three to four weeks is the new 48 hours.

Msd have first dibs , then arsenal etc footballing creditors , then Hmrc and then the rest. Oh and then Mel. And finally Gibson and the Wycombe guy. At which point well those last three can go whistling in the wind.
