Muckerette was in her 20's before she found out that actually yes, spiders will leave a cold hard wall for nice soft warm bedding.  Her dad was fibbing all along!  (Missing you already, old man xxx)

Fairly common one I think... we told our lads that the ice cream chimes meant that he'd sold out!  Not sure how long that fib survived, but it was fun whilst it lasted... and saved us a few quid!  😁

I Used to tell my lot that the Ice Cream Chimes were from the daily Grimsby Fresh Fish van.

Some thing they now still use on my Grandkids today!

    Sinfin Lane training ground.

No running water, old railway carriage to store the nets, corner flags, line paint etc, grass cut by the council, Ford Transit mini bus down from the Baseball Ground and then pile back in for a shower back at the BG.

No jumpers for goalposts tho……..the players uprooted the real thing and hid em behind the carriage! 👍😁

Thought it might be pre Raynesway.

  3. I was in France and on the way back home.

Myself and my other half (a Forest Fan!!) were sitting in a Campanile Restaurant(Bethune), having our Dinner and the TV was on (TF1).

I looked up and saw the famous clip of him coaching the guys (at Raynesway?)

i knew immediately that he had passed and nudged the boss as she had her back to TV.

We were both upset and had leave the Restaurant.

My wife had met him quite a few times in a role for St John ambulance at the City Ground and it felt quite personal to her.

My dad finally lost his battle this morning at the ridiculous age of 64.

Over the past month or so, he got stuck in a cycle of having excess fluid drained, the fluid coming back, being drained again, etc. The fluid eventually got into his lungs and, on top of that, he had the cancer in the background (which they couldn't directly treat because of all of the draining), and a skin infection that eventually led to sepsis. It was just too many issues for him to fight, even though he gave it a damn good go.

He deteriorated rapidly last night to the point of being very agitated and delirious, and I got a call from the nurses to come in at 3am. I knew it was the beginning of the end then, and the decision was made to withdraw treatment at about 11am. He went very peacefully within the hour.

Part of me wants to carry on like normal - go to the match tomorrow and have a few drinks after - but the healthiest decision is probably to skip it and have a bit of alone time to process it all.

I echo the last sentence of my previous post too - f*** cancer.

Sorry for your loss Scott i lost my Old Man six years ago with Pancreatic Cancer.

I assure you although life can never be the same it does get better and you'll remember the good times and not the bad ones.

Get help if you or any member of your nearest and dearest.

    Vent on here if necessary.

But most of all look after yourself.

    Signed for Derby: 1981

    Last club: Scunthorpe United

    Position: DF

    Full caps: 0

Fun fact: Played in a European Cup semi final (not for Scunthorpe!)

    Richard Money.

Good Player who never quite made it.

Apparently when we signed him on loan from Liverpool he didn't command a loan fee and the payment was a packet of Custard Creams.

So Money for nothing and Liverpool got their Bics for Free!

    I'll get my coat.

Modern day legend for the club.

Modern day, as in the last 20/30 years.

    The club, as in Liverpool.

For a club with such a decorated trophy cabinet, they went an awfully long time without really being a threat to the top clubs.

Klopp has come in and brought domestic and European success, when you see some of the Derby players being labelled legend on this forum, I don’t think calling Klopp a modern day legend for Liverpool is that absurd.

    Sorry David,

We will have to agree to disagree 4 major trophies in over 8 years is hardly legend status, a club the size of Liverpool need to winning 8 in that time.

The amount of cash he has had to throw at it, he should have won more.
