  1. Yes it's third tier football after all, so that's the level you get, not just in terms of players, but also officials. The important thing is the 3pts. It was a good night for Bolton as they clawed back on the goal difference. So for us, beating Reading, any which way, was crucial.

  3. That would be based on an assumption that we would have a significant transfer kitty to recruit superior talent. Not sure that's going to be the situation, financially.
  4. Rams 2 -1 Reading frgs Sibley
  5. It's not 'here we go again' at all. If the player isn't comfortable in front of the camera, there's every reason that he gets some support from the club. Actually it doesn't cost that much.
  6. Halcyon days indeed. Unlikely to be experienced again, barring some miraculous occurrence. Nevertheless, they can't take great memories away from you....
  7. Somewhere in between, perhaps? A fortnight in Skegness and a new bobble hat knitted from the finest Shetland wool 😉
  8. Would have thought the club could afford to shell out for a bit of media coaching for the players.
  9. Yes, actually, that's the only path to sustainability. Otherwise it's a boom / bust cycle.
  10. Promotion would be great, but if it doesn't happen, we can take some solace from snippets of positivity like the article in The i. Thanks for posting 👍🏽
  11. As proven in the Charlton game, we are capable of losing to very average teams. I hope we win enough of our remaining games to achieve promotion, but to do so, our performances will need to go up a level for the run in.
  12. Considering some of our recent performances, I would say highly improbable.
  13. We simply don't have the quality in the squad, or the energy levels to win games comfortably.
  14. We are soooo far away from top flight football, may as well be on another planet.....
  15. Rams 2 - 0 Part Vale frgs Gayle
  16. Not so sure. Big for the two clubs, yes. But how many neutrals could be bothered to watch such a game. More like Sky fulfilling a quota perhaps?
  17. Perhaps, but Barnsley's form seems to be improving, while ours is dipping. We can no longer rely on other teams fluffing their lines. Crunch time coming....
  18. Based on recent performances it's clear that we are letting a promotion opportunity slip through our fingers. Not being negative, just realistic and I hope I'm wrong, but our record in the play offs is not good at all.
  19. Yes absolutely ridiculous goalkeeping considering he did something very similar against Oxford away. We need definitely an upgrade on Wildsmith.
  20. Liam probably would only have got us somewhere between mid table and top six in his first season. However, that would have been OK, as I personally feel we would have reaped the rewards of an intelligent team rebuild, as well as developing a system and style of play capable of achieving promotion, with a chance of competing in the ch'ship.

  22. Certainly in the mix for top 2. Barnsley remaining fixtures not bad really.
  23. Yes, need to manage expectations regarding Gayle, remembering that he was a last ditch signing. Would probably be OK as a stop gap while others return to fitness. But all things considered, what should we realistically be expecting of Waghorn, who's form seemed to have dipped since his hat trick at P'boro?
